BAFTA Film Awards 2022 Winners: THE POWER OF THE DOG Best Film; DUNE Leads With 5 Wins

The winners of this year's BAFTA film awards have been revealed during an in-person ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London, which was hosted by Rebel Wilson. While Netflix's "The Power of the Dog" won Best Film and Director (Jane Campion), it was the sci-fi epic "Dune" that dominated the ceremony with five trophies: for Production Design, Special Visual Effects, Cinematography, Sound and Original Score.

In the acting categories, Will Smith won for "King Richard", Joanna Scanlan for "After Love", Ariana DeBose for "West Side Story", and Troy Kotsur for "CODA".

BAFTA Awards Nominations 2022: Denis Villeneuve's DUNE Dominates With 11 Nods

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has revealed the nominations for their 75th edition. Few surprises here this year, with Denis Villeneuve's "Dune" earning 11 nominations, many of which in technical categories, Jane Campion's "The Power of the Dog" scoring 8 nods, and Kenneth Branagh's "Belfast" receiving six. The last James Bond movie "No Time to Die", Paul Thomas Anderson's "Licorice Pizza", and Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" tied with 5 nods apiece.

The BAFTA winners will be announced on Sunday, March 13, 2022, during an in-person event at Royal Albert Hall, which will be hosted by Rebel Wilson.
