The Fire Inside 2024 Movie Trailers Clips Featurettes Images And Posters

"The Fire Inside" is a biographical sports drama directed by Rachel Morrison in her feature directorial debut from a script by Barry Jenkins ("Moonlight") based on the early boxing career of Claressa "T-Rex" Shields, a fighter from Flint, Michigan, including her competing at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The cast includes Ryan Destiny, Brian Tyree Henry, Olunike Adeliyi and De'Adre Aziza. The film premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, and it opened in theaters on December 25, 2024.

Jodie Foster Picture

Two-time Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster is set to star in the fourth season of the anthology series "True Detective", which will be subtitled "Night Country". The new season will be co-written and directed by Issa Lopez and executive produced by Barry Jenkins ("Moonlight").

The series focuses on Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro who are looking to solve the case of six men that operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanishing without a trace, when the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska. The pair will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.

Foster will also executive produce. This is Foster's first major TV role. She previously starred as a child in the TV shows "Gunsmoke", "My Three Sons" and the ABC spinoff of "Paper Moon".

"Shining Girls" executive producer Alan Page Arriaga will also write the series. Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak for Pastel, Mari Jo Winkler, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Nic Pizzolatto are also on board as executive producers.

DGA Awards Winners 2022 Jane Campion

The winners of the 74th annual DGA Awards have been announced. Top honors went to Jane Campion for her work on the Western drama "The Power of the Dog". The First Time Feature Film award went to Maggie Gyllenhaal for Netflix's "The Lost Daughter". In the television categories, Mark Mylod won Dramatic Series for the "All the Bells Say" episode of HBO's "Succession". Barry Jenkins took home the award for TV Movie or Limited Series for "The Underground Railroad". The Comedy Series Award went to Lucia Aniello for "Hacks".

"The Underground Railroad" is a historical drama limited series created and directed by Barry Jenkins ("Moonlight") based on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead. The cast features Thuso Mbedu, Chase W. Dillon, Joel Edgerton, Fred Hechinger and Peter Mullan.

The miniseries premiered on May 14, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

Independent Spirit Awards 2019 Winners

The winners of the 34th Annual Independent Spirit Awards have been announced. The ceremony was hosted by Aubrey Plaza on Saturday in a tent on the beach in Santa Monica, California. The big winner was "If Beale Street Could Talk", with three trophies for Best Feature, Director (Barry Jenkins) and Supporting Female (Regina King). Ethan Hawke, Glenn Close and Richard E. Grant won in the remaining acting categories.

"If Beale Street Could Talk" is a romantic drama written and directed by Barry Jenkins ("Moonlight"), based on James Baldwin's novel of the same name.

Set in early 1970s Harlem, the film tells the story of a couple's unbreakable bond and the African-American family's empowering embrace, as told through the eyes of 19-year-old Tish Rivers (KiKi Layne). The cast also includes Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Teyonah Parris, Ed Skrein, Diego Luna, Pedro Pascal and Dave Franco.

"If Beale Street Could Talk" premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in select theaters on December 14, 2018. The film received mostly positive reviews from critics and has received three Golden Globe nominations for Best Picture (Drama), Screenplay and Actress in a Supporting Role (Regina King).

The surprise small-budget hit "Moonlight" won top honors at the 2017 Independent Spirit Awards. The film took the awards for Best Feature, Director (Barry Jenkins), Screenplay, Cinematography and the Robert Altman Award for Best Ensemble. Casey Affleck won Best Male Lead for his work on "Manchester by the Sea", while Female Lead went to Isabelle Huppert for "Elle". Other winners include "Toni Edrmann" for Best International Film, and the horror film "The Witch" for Best First Feature and First Screenplay.

Written and directed by Barry Jenkins, the coming-of-age drama "Moonlight" chronicles the life of Chiron, a young black man struggling to find his place in the world and deal with his own sexuality. The film is split between three time periods in his life, childhood (Alex R. Hibbert), adolescence (Ashton Sanders), and adulthood (Trevante Rhodes), over the course of 12 years. Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Jaden Piner and Duan Sanderson co-star.

The film has received quite a lot of praise during this awards season and already won a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (Drama) after receiving six nominations. It has also received four BAFTA nods, including Best Film, as well as recognition from the Screen Actors, Writers and Producers Guild. It's not hard to predict that when the Oscar nominations are announced, "Moonlight" is going to be on that list.

"Moonlight" opened in theaters on October 21, 2016 in limited release and expanded nationwide on November 18th. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on February 28th.
