Shoplifters 2018 Movie Image

This year's Cannes Film Festival is now over. Japanese director Hirokazu Koreeda's drama "Shoplifters" won the Palme d'Or. The film tells the story of a family of thieves who take in a young girl they find on the street. Koreeda previously won the Jury Prize in 2013 for "Like Father, Like Son".

The Grand Prix, the festival's second most important award, went to Spike Lee's "BlacKkKlansman", the fact-based dramedy about an undercover infiltration of the Ku Klux Klan. The Grand Jury Prize was awarded to Lebanese director Nadine Labaki's "Capernaum".

This year's jury was presided over by Cate Blanchett.
