"Ms. Purple" is a drama directed by award-winning filmmaker Justin Chon ("Gook") from a script he co-wrote with Chris Dinh ("Everything Before Us").
The film follows Asian American sister and brother, Kasie (Tiffany Chu) and Carey (Teddy Lee), who live in Koreatown, Los Angeles, and struggled with the deep emotional wounds of being abandoned by their mother. Now, with their father on his death bed, the estranged siblings reconnect and confront their shared past, attempting to mend their relationship.
"Ms. Purple" premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. It received a limited release in theaters on September 6, 2019.
