Weekend Box-Office: SCREAM VI Opens With Franchise Best $44.5 Million

In the battle of the sequels, "Scream VI" knocked out "Creed III" to dominate the box-office this weekend, but the champ is still in pretty good shape. The sci-fi action thriller "65" also opened this week and performed well enough. The sports comedy "Champions" starring Woody Harrelson, however, couldn't find its audience.

Weekend Box-Office: CREED III Opens With Franchise-Best $58 Million

The boxing drama "Creed III" set new records for the spinoff series and sports movies in general when it opened over the weekend. The film managed to knock out "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which continues its worrying decline. Crunchyroll's anime "Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village" also opened this week and made it into the Top 5.

Weekend Box-Office: ANT-MAN, COCAINE BEAR and the JESUS REVOLUTION

"Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is turning out to be a disappointment for Marvel as the film stumbled in its sophomore weekend. Meanwhile, new releases "Cocaine Bear" and "Jesus Revolution" overperformed.

COCAINE BEAR (2023) - Trailer, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Poster

"Cocaine Bear" is a darkly comic thriller directed by Elizabeth Banks from a script by Jimmy Warden loosely based on the true story of the titular creature, an American black bear that ingested a duffel bag full of cocaine in 1985. The ensemble cast features Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Margo Martindale, Matthew Rhys and Ray Liotta. The film opened in theaters on February 24, 2023.

New Trailers: INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY, TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS, COCAINE BEAR, A MAN CALLED OTTO, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 and ANGRY NEIGHBORS

Today we have new trailers for:

• "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny", the highly anticipated fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. Harrison Ford returns in the titular role. James Mangold directs, while Steven Spielberg only serves as executive producer on this one. The cast also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Mads Mikkelsen and Boyd Holbrook.
• "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts", the newest installment in the Transformers series. The film is directed by Steven Caple Jr. ("Creed II"), and it stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Lauren Velez, and the voices of Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman.
• The horror comedy "Cocaine Bear" starring Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery-Jennings, Alden Ehrenreich, Margo Martindale and Ray Liotta. The film is directed by Elizabeth Banks ("Charlie's Angels") and produced by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller ("Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse").
• The drama "A Man Called Otto" starring Tom Hanks, based on the best-selling Swedish novel "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman, which has been previously adapted into the Swedish film of the same name. The US adaptation is directed by Marc Forster ("Finding Neverland").
• Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3", writer/director James Gunn's final installment in the series.
• The dark comedy "Angry Neighbors" based on the best-selling novel "Lapham Rising" by Roger Rosenlatt. Directed by Warren Brock, the film stars Frank Langella, Stockard Channing, Bobby Cannavale, Ashley Benson, and the voice of Cheech Marin.
