Weekend Box-Office: ANT-MAN AND THE WASP - QUANTUMANIA Dominates Presidents Day Frame

As expected, the Marvel movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" dominated the Presidents Day weekend box-office, and also managed to score a record for the "Ant-Man" series. The neo-noir thriller "Marlowe" starring Liam Neeson was also released in theaters, but failed to impress.

Weekend Box Office Magic Mikes Last Dance

"Magic Mike's Last Dance" topped the charts over a slow Super Bowl weekend, while James Cameron's re-release of "Titanic" followed close behind. Next week, Disney/Marvel will release "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", which is expected to open somewhere between $85-100 million.

Weekend Box Office Knock At The Cabin 80 For Brady

The reign of James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" has come to an end after seven weeks in which the blockbuster dominated the North American box-office. M. Night Shyamalan's new horror film "Knock at the Cabin", and the sports comedy "80 for Brady" opened at the top of the charts.

Weekend Box Office Avatar 2 Seventh Week

"Avatar: The Way of Water" conquered its seventh straight No. 1 weekend and has now become the eleventh highest grossing release in North America, and fourth worldwide. There were no major studio wide theatrical releases this weekend.

Oscar Nominations 2023 Complete List

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards have been announced on Tuesday morning. The sci-fi film "Everything Everywhere All at Once" dominates this year with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Director (Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert), Lead Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan) and Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Hsu). Germany's World War I drama "All Quiet on the Western Front", and Martin McDonagh's "The Banshees of Inisherin" follow closely behind with nine nominations each.

The musical biopic "Elvis" received eight nods. "Avatar the Way of Water" scored only four nominations, but managed to get into the Best Picture race. No nomination for James Cameron, though. "Top Gun: Maverick" nabbed six nominations, including Best Picture, but nothing for director Joseph Kosinski, or lead actor Tom Cruise.

Other Best Picture contenders include Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans" (7 nominations), Todd Field's "Tár" (6 nominations), and Ruben Östlund's "Triangle of Sadness" (3 nominations).

Jimmy Kimmel will return to host the Oscar. The 95th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC.

Weekend Box Office Avatar The Way Of Water 2 Billion

"Avatar: The Way of Water" continues its winning streak by dominating its sixth weekend, while the animated film "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish" continues to demonstrate some surprisingly strong holdover power. The newly released computer-screen thriller "Missing", a follow-up to 2018's "Searching", scored a decent debut, but was no match for the big players.

Weekend Box Office Avatar Way Water Mlk Frame

James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" is doing solid business at the Martin Luther King holiday box office and is getting closer to the $2 billion milestone. New releases this week include the action thriller "Plane" starring Gerard Butler, and the remake "House Party". The Tom Hanks starrer "A Man Called Otto" expanded nationwide.

Pga Awards Nominations 2023

The nominations for the 2023 Producers Guild of America Awards feature some of the usual suspects, but also a few surprises. The feature film lineup includes "Avatar: The Way of Water", "The Banshees of Inisherin", "Black Banther: Wakanda Forever", "Elvis", "Everything Everywhere All at Once", "The Fabelmans", "Glass Onion", "Tar", "Top Gun: Maverick" and "The Whale".

The 34th Annual Producers Guild Awards will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Weekend Box Office M3gan Avatar

The PG-13 horror film "M3gan" was hot on the heels of "Avatar: The Way of Water", even going as far as surpassing it on Friday, but in the end it only managed a second place finish, while James Cameron's behemoth scored the third highest fourth weekend ever.

Weekend Box Office Avatar Way Water Second Weekend 811 Million Worldwide

"Avatar: The Way of Water" easily dominated the box-office in its second weekend, even though Storm Elliott shut down a lot of theaters across the country. Christmas Eve earnings did hit a historical low point, and the overall box-office weekend is estimated at around $82.8 million, a sharp decline from last year's $144 million. New releases "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", "Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody" and "Babylon" either underperformed, or outright flopped.

Avatar The Way Of Water 2022 Movie Trailers Featurettes Images And Posters

"Avatar: The Way of Water" is a sci-fi action adventure film directed by James Cameron from a script co-written by Cameron and "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" scribes Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa.

The film is a sequel to the 2009 blockbuster "Avatar" and it stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, Matt Gerald, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco and Jemaine Clement. With a budget estimated at around $400 million, this is the most expensive movie ever made.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" opened in theaters on December 16, 2022.

Golden Globe Nominations 2023 Complete List

The nominations for the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards have been unveiled today. The nominees for Best Picture (Drama and Comedy/Musical) are "The Way of Water", "Elvis", "The Fablemans", "Tár", "Top Gun: Maverick", "Babylon", "The Banshees of Inisherin", "Everything Everywhere All at Once", "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" and "Triangle of Sadness".

"The Banshees of Inisherin" leads with eight nominations, followed by "Everything Everywhere All at Once" with six nods, while Damien Chazelle's "Babylon" and Steven Spielberg's "The Fabelmans" are tied with five each.

In the television categories, "Abbott Elementary" scored the most nominations with five, while "The Crown", "Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story", "Only Murders in the Building", "Pam & Tommy" and "The White Lotus" got four nods apiece.

The winners will be announced on January 10th. The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton and will be hosted by Jerrod Carmichael. It will air on NBC and Peacock.

Avatar The Way Of Water New Trailer

Today we have new trailers for:
  • James Cameron's highly anticipated sequel "Avatar: The Way of Water". The film will be the first of several new installments, and it stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.
  • The action western "The Old Way" starring Nicolas Cage. The film is directed by indie filmmaker Brett Donowho ("Acts of Violence").
  • The Christmas party comedy "It's A Wonderful Binge" which is also a sequel to Hulu's 2020 comedy "The Binge". The cast includes Eduardo Franco, Dexter Darden, Zainne Saleh, Marta Piekarz, Danny Trejo, Tony Cavalero, Nick Swardson, Kaitlin Olson and Tim Meadows.
  • The psychological thriller "Inside" directed by Greek filmmaker Vasilis Katsoupis ("My Friend Larry Gus") and starring Willem Dafoe.
  • The British drama "Living" starring Bill Nighy. Directed by acclaimed South African filmmaker Oliver Hermanus ("Moffie") from a script by Japanese-English writer Kazuo Ishiguro ("The Remains of the Day"), the film is inspired by Akira Kurosawa's classic film "Ikiru".
  • The psychedelic horror thriller "Enys Men" inspired by the British folk horror films of the 1960s and 1970s. The film hails from English-Cornish writer-director-cinematographer-editor Mark Jenkin ("Bait").
