Emily Deschanel to Star in NBC Criminal Profiler Drama Pilot

"Bones" star Emily Deschanel has signed on to star in the lead role in NBC's new untitled drama pilot from Dean Georgaris ("The Meg", "The Manchurian Candidate") and John Fox ("Song Sung Blue" producer) who will write and executive produce. The pilot was originally picked up at NBC in January, and it's inspired by the real-life work of internationally renowned expert profiler and author Dr. Ann Burgess.

Here is the official synopsis: "Professor Georgia Ryan (Deschanel) is a trailblazing psychologist who challenges the field of criminology by shifting the investigative focus to the victim rather than just the perpetrator in order to uncover the crucial clues that more traditional methods leave behind. Alongside her team, this pioneering expert consults with the FBI to solve the most baffling and elusive cases."

John Davis will executive produce via Davis Entertainment, while Deschanel will produce in addition to starring. Burgess is a consulting producer, alongside Steve Constantine. Universal Television will produce.

If the pilot goes to series, it would mark Deschanel's second role as a criminal investigator in a broadcast show following her 12 seasons as forensic anthropologist Temperance “Bones” Brennan in Fox's "Bones". She was also a producer on the show and directed the premiere of the final season in her directorial debut.

Emily Deschanel to Star in Indie Family Drama MONKEY BREAD

"Bones" star Emily Deschanel has joined the cast of the upcoming indie drama "Monkey Bread" directed by Amelia Brantley in her feature directorial debut. Brantley also stars in the lead role and wrote the script. Production is currently underway in Los Angeles and Chicago.

The film explores the challenges of navigating Los Angeles as a 30-something struggling actor, and it follows Ruth (Brantley), who, while tightroping the line between dreams coming true and utter disappointment, gets a gig babysitting for one of her idols and comes face to face with the life she thinks she’s always wanted. Deschanel plays a movie star who is trying to juggle family, motherhood and her career.

The cast also includes Samuel Hunt ("Chicago P.D."), Grant Jordan ("Howdy, Neighbor!"), newcomer Ethan Lichterman, and Keith Kupferer ("Ghostlight").

Brantley also produces alongside Brenden Rodriguez, with Hunt, Dan Steinberg, and Robert Massar serving as executive producers.

Brantley said in a statement: "Working with Emily and this incredible cast has been full of pinch-me moments. I still can't believe I'm directing and getting to tell a story that is so deeply personal. This film is a love letter to my fellow artists who continue to create and try and hope and push forward. I'm very excited for people to see it."

The cast features Emily Deschanel, Sam Jaeger, Gerardo Celasco, Madeleine Arthur, Xaria Dotson, Alisha Newton and Naomi Tan. The eight-episode miniseries premiered on September 2, 2022 on Netflix.

ANIMAL KINGDOM Season 4 Trailer, Promos, Images and Poster

The fourth season of the crime drama series "Animal Kindom" has premiered on May 28, 2019 on TNT. The series was developed by Jonathan Lisco based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name by David Michod.

The show follows 17-year-old Joshua "J" Cody (Finn Cole), who finds himself living with his grandmother Janine "Smurf" Cody (Ellen Barkin), a formidable and manipulative matriarch from the California coast, whose family is involved in dangerous criminal activities. The cast also includes Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary and Spencer Treat Clark. Emily Deschanel joins the fourth season's cast.

BONES Final Season Trailers, Images and Poster

The police procedural "Bones" has reached its 12th and final season, so here are a promo, a recap trailer, some images and a poster for the new season.

In the first episode of Season 12, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) has been kidnapped by her old assistant Zack (Eric Millegan), so Booth (David Boreanaz) and the rest of the team scramble find her. The series also stars T.J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor and Michaela Conlin.

"Bones" Season 12 premiered yesterday, and the next episode is scheduled to air on January 10th.

Official Synopsis: A devout Catholic who's in the running for the coveted Catholic Woman of the Year award at her church, Eileen Cleary (Kathleen Turner) must prove that her family conforms to the image of the "perfect family" as envisioned by the church, an image she's put forth (with considerable effort) her whole life. Eileen's life of lies catches up to her when she's forced to confront her very human family: her gay daughter, Shannon (Emily Deschanel), who is about to marry her life partner Angela (Angelique Cabral); her unhappily married son Frank, Jr. (Jason Ritter), who's just left his wife; and the painful secrets she'd rather not face about her own marriage to the long-suffering, loving Frank (Michael McGrady).
