The Rookie" is a new crime procedural series created by
"Castle" writer and one-time showrunner
Alexi Hawley (brother of
"Fargo" and
"Legion" creator
Noah Hawley) for ABC.
Nathan Fillion stars as John Nolan, a 40-year-old man living in a small town who gives up his comfortable life to move to Los Angeles and become a police officer for the Los Angeles Police Department. The cast also includes
Afton Williamson, Eric Winter, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O'Neil, Titus Makin, Alyssa Diaz and
Mercedes Mason.
The Rookie" premieres on ABC tonight, October 16, 2018 at 10p. The show received a straight-to-series order without a pilot last October. The critical reception, so far, has been mostly mixed-to-positive.
