"Nickel Boys" is a drama directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker RaMell Ross (documentary "Hale County This Morning, This Evening") from a script he co-wrote alongside Joslyn Barnes ("Harvest") based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Colson Whitehead. The cast features Ethan Herisse, Brandon Wilson, Hamish Linklater, Fred Hechinger, Daveed Diggs and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor. The film opened in select theaters on December 14, 2024.

"When They See Us" is a miniseries co-written and directed by Ava DuVernay ("Selma"). The series is based on the real-life 1989 case which involved the wrongful conviction of five teenagers from Harlem (four African-American and one Hispanic) accused of attacking and raping a jogger in Central Park, in New York City.

The ensemble cast features Asante Blackk, Caleel Harris, Ethan Herisse, Jharrel Jerome, Justin Cunningham, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, Freddy Miyares, Marquis Rodriguez, Vera Farmiga, Felicity Huffman, John Leguizamo, Niecy Nash, Michael K. Williams and more.

"When They See Us" was released by Netflix on May 31, 2019 and received mostly positive reviews from critics.
