Weekend Box-Office: IT Floats Above AMERICAN ASSASSIN and MOTHER!

The Stephen King adaptation "It" dominated the box-office in its second weekend and scored another record. New releases "American Assassin" and "mother!" suffered heavy losses as a result.

HOME AGAIN Trailers, Clips, Images and Posters

Written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, the romantic comedy "Home Again" stars Reese Witherspoon as a single mother, recently separated from her husband (Michael Sheen), who decides to move back to Los Angeles with her two daughters. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets three aspiring filmmakers who are in need of a place to live, and invites them to stay in her guest house, temporarily.

The film also stars Pico Alexander, Nat Wolff, Lake Bell, Reid Scott and Candice Bergen.

"Home Again" opened in theaters on September 8th, 2017 and received mixed and negative reviews. It also failed to impress at the box-office, grossing only $8.5 million in its opening weekend.

Weekend Box-Office: IT Scares Off Competition With Record-Breaking Debut

As expected, the new Stephen King adaptation "It" topped the charts over the weekend, but the big news is that it also managed to break a bunch of records. And not a moment too soon, as the summer box-office ended up being a disappointment. Meanwhile, the romantic comedy "Home Again" made an unimpressive debut.

In Theaters: IT, HOME AGAIN, 9/11 and ANTI MATTER

This week in theaters we have another highly anticipated Stephen King adaptation, "IT", but this one looks to have a much better chance at topping the box-office charts for more than just one week, because unlike "The Dark Tower", this one seems to be a much better adaptation. Another wide release is the romantic comedy "Home Again" starring Reese Witherspoon. In limited release we have the drama "9/11" starring Charlie Sheen and the sci-fi noir "Anti-Matter".
