"The Pope's Exorcist" is a horror film directed by Julius Avery ("Overlord") from a script by Michael Petroni ("The Book Thief"), Evan Spiliotopoulos ("The Unholy") and R. Dean McCreary ("You're My Angel"). The film is based on the memoirs of Father Gabriel Amorth titled "An Exorcist Tells His Story" and "An Exorcist: More Stories", and it stars Russell Crowe, Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe and Franco Nero. "The Pope's Exorcist" opened in theaters on April 14, 2023.

SAMARITAN (2022) - Trailer, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"Samaritan" is a superhero film directed by Julius Avery ("Son of a Gun", "Overlord") from a script by Bragi F. Schut ("Escape Room"). The film's story was previously adapted into the Mythos Comics graphic novels by Schut, Marc Olivent, and Renzo Podesta. The cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Javon Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco and Moises Arias. The film premiered on August 26, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.

Sylvester Stallone to Star in Dark Superhero Movie SAMARITAN for MGM

Following the release of his latest Rambo flick, Sylvester Stallone has signed on to star in and produce the upcoming superhero movie "Samaritan". Directed by Julius Avery ("Overlord") from a screenplay by Bragi F. Schut ("Escape Room"), the film is said to be an alternate take on the superhero genre, and it will be developed at MGM. Schut will also serve as an executive producer.

Based on Schut's own original idea, the film follows a boy who embarks on a quest to discover if an old, mythic superhero is still alive after he vanished 20 years earlier following a tragic event. Production is expected to begin early next year, and the release date has been set for November 20, 2020.

Avery had this to say about the project: "Sly is a hero of mine, I’m incredibly thrilled to be working with such an iconic actor on this very special project with Balboa Productions and MGM".

Stallone is also set to direct and star in the biopic "Tough as They Come" based on Marcus Brotherton and Travis Mills's books, and he will also star in Brad Furman's crime biopic "Scarpa" penned by "Goodfellas" and "Casino" scribe Nicholas Pileggi.

"Overlord" is a World War II horror film directed by Julius Avery ("Son of a Gun") from a script by Billy Ray ("Captain Phillips") and Mark L. Smith ("The Revenant"), and produced by J.J. Abrams ("Star Wars: The Force Awakens").

The film is set on the eve of D-Day and it follows a team of American paratroopers who are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a dangerous mission. However, they uncover a much more sinister threat in a mysterious Nazi lab hidden beneath a church. The cast features Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, Mathilde Ollivier, John Magaro, Pilou Asbaek, Iain de Caestecker, Dominic Applewhite and Bokeem Woodbine.

"Overlord" opened in theaters on November 9, 2018 and received mostly positive reviews from critics. The film opened with $10 million at the box-office domestically and $19 million worldwide, against a budget of $38 million.
