New on DVD and Blu-ray: January 17, 2017

The new DVD and Blu-ray releases for the week of January 17, 2017 include the thriller "The Girl on the Train" starring Emily Blunt, the horror sequel "Ouija: Origin of Evil", the comedy "Keeping Up With the Joneses", the courtroom drama "The Whole Truth" starring Keanu Reeves and the animated feature "Long Way North". Also new on home video is the second season of the Syfy series "12 Monkeys".

Weekend Box-Office: MADEA HALLOWEEN Scares Off JACK REACHER and OUIJA Sequels

It's not uncommon for Tyler Perry flicks to earn solid amounts of money, but this weekend "Boo! A Madea Halloween" actually topped the box-office ahead of some pretty solid competition from "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" and "Ouija: Origin of Evil". I would also mention the comedy "Keeping Up With the Joneses" but that one couldn't even make it into the Top 5.

In Theaters: JACK REACHER NEVER GO BACK, OUIJA ORIGIN OF EVIL, KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES, BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN

This week in theaters, Tom Cruise goes back to another action franchise with "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back". That title is very good advice that nobody seems to have listened to. Next, there's the horror sequel "Ouija: Origin of Evil" that managed to shock everyone. In a good way, too. Those looking for a laugh or two can check out the all-star comedy "Keeping Up With the Joneses" or Tyler Perry's "Boo! A Madea Halloween". I ain't kidding. You'll only laugh once or twice on either one of these movies.

KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES Clips, Images and Posters

"Keeping up with the Joneses" is a new comedy from "Superbad" director Greg Mottola that tells the story of a suburban couple (played by Isla Fisher and Zach Galifianakis) who become embroiled in an international espionage plot when they discover that their seemingly perfect new neighbors (played by Gal Gadot and Jon Hamm) are government spies.

The film also stars Patton Oswalt, Maribeth Monroe, Kevin Dunn, Matt Walsh and Ming Zhao.

"Keeping up with the Joneses" opens in theaters on October 21st.

Things were quiet in suburbia until the Joneses moved in. The comedy "Keeping up with the Joneses" stars Isla Fisher and Zach Galifianakis as a suburban couple who finds themselves involved in an international espionage plot by their ultra-sophisticated new neighbors played by Gal Gadot and Jon Hamm.

Directed by Greg Mottola ("Superbad"), the film also stars Patton Oswalt, Maribeth Monroe, Kevin Dunn, Matt Walsh and Ming Zhao.

"Keeping up with the Joneses" opens in theaters on October 21st.
