kidnap-2017-halle-berry-new-on-dvd-and-blu-ray

Product Description: A typical afternoon in the park turns into a nightmare for single mom Karla Dyson (Academy Award winner Halle Berry) when her son suddenly disappears. Without a cell phone and knowing she has no time to wait for police help, Karla jumps in her own car and sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers. A relentless, edge-of-your seat chase ensues, where Karla must risk everything to not lose sight of her own son. In this tense, action-fueled thriller, directed by Luis Preito and from the producers of Salt and Transformers, one mother's heroic attempt to take back her son leads her to ask herself how far she will go to save her child.

"Kidnap" is a thriller directed by Luis Prieto ("Pusher" remake) from a script written by Knate Lee ("Cardboard Boxer"). The film stars Halle Berry as a single mother whose six-year-old son (Sage Correa) is kidnapped and stops at nothing to get him back.

The cast also includes Chris McGinn, Lew Temple, Jason George and Kurtis Bedford.

Production on "Kidnap" was completed in 2014 and the film was set for release in 2015, but Relativity Media went bankrupt and the rights were sold to Aviron Pictures. The film eventually opened in theaters on August 4, 2017.

"Kidnap" received mixed to negative reviews from critics who praised Berry's gripping performance, but weren't too thrilled about the film's writing and exploitation-style narrative. However, the film defied expectations and opened with $10.2 million from just 2,378 theaters, finishing 5th at the box-office.

The box-office slowed down a bit this weekend, with pundits estimating this to have been the weakest box-office weekend since April. In this context, "The Dark Tower", the latest Stephen King adaptation, failed to impress. Same scenario was applied to Kathryn Bigelow's "Detroit". Meanwhile, the thriller "Kidnap" starring Halle Berry scored a decent debut.
