"Paolo" is a French psychological thriller series created, written and directed by Sebastien Marnier based on his 2011 debut novel "Mimi" (with additional elements from "Une vie de petits fours"). The show follows the titular Paolo (Jerome Niel), a working-class piano mover in a provincial French town whose stable life is upended when he crosses paths with Teophane (Yoann Gasiorowski), a charismatic and successful old schoolmate who has returned to run for local mayor.
The cast also includes Guslagie Malanda, Magalie Lepine-Blondeau, Marie Oppert, and Philippe Katerine. The series premiered on September 25, 2026 on HBO Max.
