Directed by Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Matthew Heineman ("Cartel Land", "City of Ghosts"), the biopic "A Private War" tells the story of journalist Marie Colvin, played in the film by Rosamund Pike, who is one of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time. The film also stars Jamie Dornan, Stanley Tucci and Tom Hollander, and features an original song by Annie Lennox titled "Requiem for A Private War".

"A Private War" premiered at this year's Toronto International Film Festival and opened in select theaters on November 2, 2018, and nationwide on November 16th. The film has received mostly positive reviews from critics.

DGA Awards 2018 Winners: Guillermo del Toro for The Shape of Water

The Directors Guild of America announced the winners of their 70th Annual Awards on Saturday night. The ceremony was hosted by "Knocked Up" director Judd Apatow. Guillermo del Toro strengthened his chances for an Oscar win after winning the DGA's top honor for his work on "The Shape of Water". Jordan Peele received the award for Directorial Achievement in First-Time Feature Film, and Matthew Heineman was honored for his documentary "City of Ghosts". In the television categories the winners include "Veep", "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Big Little Lies".

"City of Ghosts" is a documentary film directed by Oscar-nominee Matthew Heineman ("Cartel Land") that follows a group of anonymous Syrian activists, who call themselves "Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently", risking their lives to expose the human rights violations by ISIS and the terrorist group's misinformation campaigns in their home country.

The documentary premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize and was eventually acquired by Amazon Studios. It was released in select theaters on July 14th and received universal acclaim from critics.
