"Terminator: Dark Fate" is a sci-fi action film directed by
Tim Miller (
"Deadpool") from a script by
David Goyer (
"The Dark Knight"),
Justin Rhodes and
Billy Ray (
"Captain Phillips").
The film is the sixth installment in the
"Terminator" franchise, and a direct sequel to
"Terminator 2: Judgement Day". The other films and series in the franchise have been described by Cameron as occuring in alternate timelines.
Linda Hamilton and
Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise their roles from the original films, and they are joined by
Mackenzie Davis as a cybernetically-enhanced soldier from the future, and
Gabriel Luna as Rev-9, a new advanced Terminator protoype sent back in time to kill a young woman (
Natalia Reyes) who is destined to become the new mother of a Resistance leader.
"Terminator: Dark Fate" opened in theaters on November 1, 2019.
