weekend-box-office-terminator-dark-fate

Dark fate, indeed. The new "Terminator" film scored a #1 debut, but the film tanked domestically and it's also struggling overseas. Meanwhile, the historical biopic "Harriet" overperformed, Edward Norton's neo-noir flick "Motherless Brooklyn" made the Top 10, and the animated film "Arctic Dogs" is a complete disaster.

Terminator Genisys new on DVD and Blu-Ray

Product Description: Terminator: Genisys begins by treading the territory of James Cameron’s original The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with adult John Connor (Jason Clarke) sending trusted military confidant Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to battle a Terminator that has also been sent back in time with the purpose of killing Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and, therefore, preventing John from ever being born. But when Courtney’s Reese lands in the year 1984, things are very different, as Sarah is already fully aware of the Terminator threat and is much more the hardened warrior of T2 rather than the (justifiably) confused civilian from The Terminator.

Terminator Genisys Movie Clips

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters today, so here are seven clips from the reboot. The film is being hit pretty hard by critics who consider it an inferior installment compared to the first two films, but a mild improvement over the the last two sequels. It remains to be seen if the film can overcome its early reviews and lead at the box-office against competitors like "Jurassic World" and "Inside Out".

The film is directed by Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World") and it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance and J.K. Simmons.

Terminator Genisys Making Of Featurettes

Four new featurettes for "Terminator: Genisys" have been released. The new behind-the-scenes videos offer further insight into the reboot's characters. Unfortunately, the movie doesn't seem to be the breath of fresh air that the franchise needed, with many critics slamming it for being an empty convoluted mess. On a more positive note, some critics have said that it is better than "Terminator: Salvation".

Directed by Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World"), the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance and J.K. Simmons.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters tomorrow.

80 New Terminator Genisys Pictures

Today we have a ridiculously huge batch of 80 images from "Terminator: Genisys", featuring both stills from the movie and behind-the-scenes photos. The reboot directed by Alan Taylor opens in theaters this week and expectations are enormous, especially after other reboots like "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Jurassic World" were so successful. However, early reviews seem to indicate that the new Terminator isn't that good. In the end, though, the fans will have the last word. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance and J.K. Simmons.

Terminator Genisys Featurette and TV Spots

A new featurette and a few TV Spots have been released for "Terminator: Genisys". Alan Taylor's reboot has just received James Cameron's stamp of approval as evident from this first featurette which feels like the studio's attempt to appease the confused fanbase after a series of spoilery and ridiculous trailers. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Dayo Okeniyi, Courtney B. Vance and J.K. Simmons.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.

Terminator Genisys Character Posters

Five new character posters for "Terminator: Genisys" have appeared online. The Alan Taylor directed reboot features an altered timeline of the classic franchise that will generate a whole new series of events for a whole new trilogy. The posters feature the main cast: Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), John Connor a.k.a. the T-3000 (Jason Clarke), Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), the reliable old T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger), and the T-1000 (Byung-hun Lee). The poster of the T-3000 is basically the most disappointing as it's simply a copy-paste job off the film's final poster (below). The film also stars Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Courtney B. Vance, Dayo Okeniyi and Sandrine Holt.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.

terminator-genisys-new-tv-spots-and-poster

The latest international TV spots and a new poster for "Terminator: Genisys" take the spoilers a bit further and continue where the last trailer left off. We already knew that Alan Taylor's reboot was altering the original timeline, but the last trailer also added a new twist to the plot as Sarah Connor's (Emilia Clarke) son, future resistance leader John Connor (Jason Clarke) has been turned into a cyborg and sent back in time to kill his mother. Meanwhile, Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) looks like he isn't left much to do here. The TV spots also add more background regarding the "Genisys" title which apparently relates to some Cyberdyne app that will potentially be responsable for Judgement Day. And the film's final poster makes the spoiler official by including the John Connor cyborg front and center.

The film also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Courtney B. Vance and Sandrine Holt.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015. I just hope that by the time it opens there will still be something left to see.

terminator-genisys-trailer-gives-away-whole-movie

A new theatrical trailer for "Terminator: Genisys" has been released online along with a few more images. The new trailer for director Alan Taylor's reboot is much more detailed in terms of plot, and adds some entertainment value, but I also get the feeling that I've seen most of the film's major twists.

While the previous trailer revealed that Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and an aging guardian version of the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) were waiting for the arrival of Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) in 1984, this new trailer also adds the twist that John Connor (Jason Clarke) has been somehow turned into an advanced type of cyborg and sent back in time to be a bad guy and kill his own mother. This reboot just gets crazier with every new trailer.

The film also stars Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Courtney B. Vance and Sandrine Holt.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.

Terminator Genisys movie images

With the new issue of Empire Magazine comes a batch of new images from the reboot "Terminator: Genisys". The images offer further insight into director Alan Taylor's reimagining of the Terminator universe and it even features an image of a young Sarah Connor being rescued by the Terminator, which seems to alter the timeline of events that we knew from the original movies. The film also stars Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons and Dayo Okeniyi.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.

Terminator Genisys Trailer and posters

The first official trailer for "Terminator: Genisys" has been released along with a teaser poster and a motion poster. The trailer is available in two versions, domestic and international.

Directed by Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones", "Thor: The Dark World"), the film reboots the franchise in more ways than expected. The story follows Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) as he is sent by John Connor (Jason Clarke) back in time to 1984 to save his mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) from a Terminator. However, once he gets to 1984, Reese finds that things are not the way they were supposed to be (or the way we remember them from the original film). And this is where it all gets weird, with Sarah Connor already geared up to battle Terminators, Arnold Schwarzenegger playing an old cyborg and a CGI-ed version of his 1984 self, and the T2 shapeshifting robot is somehow involved and now played by Byung-hun Lee.

It's impossible to even guess what the plot is all about, but it pretty much feels like they're throwing in everything but the kitchen sink in the hopes of sparking a new trilogy. And, apart from Clarke and Lee, the rest of the actors seem awkwardly cast in this. The film also stars Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons and Dayo Okeniyi.

"Terminator: Genisys" opens in theaters on July 1, 2015.
