In Theaters: PLAYMOBIL THE MOVIE and THE AERONAUTS

Only one new wide release dares to confront "Frozen II" this weekend, and that brave new release is "Playmobil: The Movie". Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the film will be able to crack the Top 5. In fact, it's going to have a hard time making the Top 10. The film was released today by STX, finally, after sitting in limbo since 2017 when Global Road went bankrupt, and it is expected to rake in around $2 million from 2,300 locations. The film was already released overseas, but only managed to deliver $12 million from international markets, so it's safe to say expectations for the U.S. release are very low.

Last week's legal drama "Dark Waters" starring Mark Ruffalo and Anne Hathaway has expanded into over 2,000 theaters this weekend, and according to projections, it might end up with as much as $4.5 million this weekend.

In limited release, it might be worth checking out Amazon's true story adventure drama "The Aeronauts" starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. The film opened today in 185 theaters.

• The true story historical adventure drama "The Aeronauts" starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. The film is directed by Tom Harper ("Wild Rose").
• The horror film "Antlers" from producer Guillermo del Toro and "Crazy Heart" filmmaker Scott Cooper. The cast features Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, JT Corbitt and Graham Greene.
• The ensemble romantic drama "The Kindness of Strangers" starring Zoe Kazan, Tahar Rahim, Andrea Riseborough, Bill Nighy, Caleb Landry Jones and Jay Baruchel.
• The drama "Burden" written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Andrew Heckler and produced by Robbie Brenner ("Dallas Buyers Club"). The film is based on a true story and it stars Forest Whitaker, Garrett Hedlund, Andrea Riseborough and Tom Wilkinson

• Disney's long-awaited "Frozen 2". The film features the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood.
• Netflix's upcoming "Breaking Bad" movie "El Camino. Written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan, the film is set after the events of the show's finale and Aaron Paul reprises the role of Jesse Pinkman.
• The British historical adventure drama "The Aeronauts" starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who previously starred together in the Stephen Hawking biopic "The Theory of Everything".
• The mystery thriller "Fractured" from filmmaker Brad Anderson ("The Machinist", "The Call"). The film stars Sam Worthington ("Avatar"), Lily Rabe ("American Horror Story") and Stephen Tobolowsky ("Groundhog Day").

• The new chapter in the "Terminator" film series titled "Terminator: Dark Fate", which will be a direct sequel to the first two films in the franchise. The film is produced by James Cameron and directed by "Deadpool" helmer Tim Miller. The cast includes Linda Hamilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes and Gabriel Luna.
• Amazon's upcoming true story adventure drama "The Aeronauts", which reunites Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne with his "The Theory of Everything" co-star, Oscar nominee Felicity Jones. The film is directed by British filmmaker Tom Harper ("Wild Rose") from a script by BAFTA winner Jack Throne ("This is England '90", "His Dark Material").
• The thriller "Semper Fi" directed and co-written by Henry Alex Rubin (Oscar-nominated documentary "Murderball"). The film stars Jai Courtney ("Suicide Squad"), Nat Wolff ("Paper Towns") and Leighton Meester ("Gossip Girl").
