Co-written and directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev ("Leviathan"), the Russian drama "Loveless" ("Nelyubov") follows a divorced couple that are about to start new lives, each with a new partner, who are forced to work together when their 12-year-old only son disappears after witnessing one of their fights.
The cast features Maryana Spivak, Aleksey Rozin, Matvey Novikov, Natalya Potapova, Marina Vasileva and Anna Gulyarenko. The film was nominated for the Foreign Film award at the 2018 Golden Globes and is competing for the same award at this year's Academy Awards. Zvyagintsev won the Jury Prize at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and the film was nominated for the Palme d'Or.
"Loveless" opened in theaters in Russia on June 1, 2017, and received a limited release in the U.S. on February 16, 2018.
