In Theaters: SICARIO - DAY OF THE SOLDADO, UNCLE DREW, LEAVE NO TRACE and DARK RIVER

The gritty action thriller "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" is now in theaters. The sequel to the 2015 film directed by Denis Villeneuve stars Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro. Reviews for the film have been mixed to positive. Another new wide release is the basketball comedy "Uncle Drew" starring real-life basketball player Kyrie Irving.

In limited release it might be worth checking out the dramas "Leave No Trace" starring Ben Foster, and "Dark River" starring Ruth Wilson.

Directed by Stefano Sollima ("A.C.A.B.", "Gomora"), the action thriller "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" is a sequel to Denis Villeneuve's 2015 film "Sicario". The script is once again written by Taylor Sheridan ("Hell or High Water").

Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro reprise their roles as CIA agent Matt Graver and mysterious assassin Alejandro. The two join forces to burn down the cartels responsible for trafficking terrorists across the U.S. border.

The film also stars Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Catherine Keener, Matthew Modine, Shea Whigham, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Elijah Rodriguez.

"Sicario: Day of the Soldado" opened in theaters on June 29, 2018. The film received mixed to positive reviews from critics. Sony is anticipating a $12 million opening weekend, but after the film grossed $2 million from Thursday night previews, pundits are expecting a slightly bigger debut.

Today we have new trailers for the sequel "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" starring Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin, the writer-turned-literary forger Lee Israel biopic "Can You Ever Forgive Me ?" starring Melissa McCarthy, the ensemble comedy "Tag", the thriller "An Ordinary Man" starring Ben Kingsley, and the Netflix basketball drama "Amateur". TBS also released a new trailer for their upcoming comedy series "The Last O.G." starring Tracy Morgan.

SICARIO 2 Director to Helm CALL OF DUTY Movie

The highly successful first-person shooter video game franchise "Call of Duty" is finally getting a big screen adaptation, joining the ranks of so many other game-to-movie translations. There have been talks of a COD movie for a long time, but now it seems that Activision Blizzard Studios, the film division of the gaming company Activision Blizzard, is ready to move forward with the project.

It has been reported that "Sicario 2: Soldado" director Stefano Sollima is in talks to helm the adaptation. A script has already been written by Kieran Fitzgerald ("Snowden"). While the studio hasn't commented on the news, there have been some updates provided by producer Stacey Sher in an interview, which also hints at the possibility of a multi-installment "Call of Duty" cinematic universe:

"“We have plotted out many years…We put together this group of writers to talk about where we were going. There’ll be a film that feels more like Black Ops, the story behind the story. The Modern Warfare series looks at what it’s like to fight a war with the eyes of the world on you. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on.”"
