The Leftovers Season 2 Teaser Trailer

The first trailer for the second season of HBO's "The Leftovers" has been released. Created by Damon Lindelof ("Lost") and Tom Perrotta, based on the latter's own book, the show focuses on the people left behind after a Rapture-type event makes 2% of the world's population disappear. Since the first season exhausted all the plot elements from Perrotta's book, the new season will introduce a new location and characters while also keeping the old cast in focus.

The new story will move from the state of New York to Texas where, as seen in this trailer, there have been zero departures and many people are lining up to go there. This adds a welcome new layer of mystery and mass hysteria that seems very much in tune with the first season's dark tone. The new season was filmed in Austin, Texas. Aside from the expected newcomers, the cast will feature Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Christopher Eccleston and Carrie Coon. Also Liv Tyler has signed on for one more episode, but will not appear in the rest of the season.

"The Leftovers" Season 2 premieres on October 4th.

the-leftovers-full-trailer

A full trailer has been released for HBO's upcoming new series "The Leftovers". Based on the Rapture, the series explores the events following the disappearance of the chosen and the chaos and despair that the ones who were left behind must face. The series is created by Damon Lindelof ("Lost") and Tom Perrotta ("Little Children"), and it stars Justin Theroux, Liv Tyler, Christopher Eccleston, Amy Brenneman, Carrie Coon and Ann Dowd. The trailer looks awesome, much darker than you'd expect, and the use of James Blake's song "Retrograde" completes the grim atmosphere.

"The Leftovers" will premiere June 29th at 10pm.
