Kathryn Hahn In Talks To Play Mother Gothel In TANGLED Live-Action Movie

Four-time Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn ("Agatha All Along", "The Studio") is in talks to join Disney's "Tangled" live-action version, which will be directed by Michael Gracey ("The Greatest Showman") from a script by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson based on the studio's own 2010 animated film.

Hahn will play Mother Gothel, the original film's antagonist, known for her manipulative tendencies and obsession with youth, which she maintains through magical powers in Rapunzel's hair. It was previously reported that Scarlett Johansson was circling the role back in October, but had to exit negotiations due to her upcoming roles in "The Batman Part II" and "The Exorcist" reboot.

The cast also includes Teagan Croft ("Titans") as Rapunzel, and Milo Manheim ("Zombies" Disney Channel franchise) as Flynn Rider. Rider is the thief who helps the princess escape the tower in which she's stuck.

The original "Tangled" was released in theaters on November 24, 2010, and grossed $591.8 million worldwide. Kristin Burr will produce for Burr! Productions, with Lucy Kitada executive producing. The original received an Oscar nomination for the original song "I See the Light" by Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.

FIXED (2025) - Trailer, Clip, Featurette, Images and Poster

"Fixed" is an adult animated comedy directed by Genndy Tartakovsky ("Samurai Jack", "Primal"). The script was penned by Tartakovsky and Jon Vitti. The film was originally set at Warner Bros for distribution, but its theatrical release was cancelled by Warner Bros Discovery as a cost-saving measure. It was later acquired by Netlix and was eventually released by the streamer on August 13th. The voice cast includes Adam DeVine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Bobby Moynihan, Michelle Buteau, River Gallo and Grey DeLisle.

John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn & Sienna Miller Join David O. Russell's MADDEN

Oscar-nominated filmmaker David O. Russell's upcoming biopic "Madden" is racking up an impressive cast. The latest reports indicate that three-time Emmy winner John Mulaney, three-time Emmy nominee Kathryn Hahn ("Agatha All Along") and two-time BAFTA nominee Sienna Miller ("American Sniper") are in talks to join the Amazon MGM Studios film's ensemble.

The film chronicles the unlikely path that took Madden from Super Bowl-winning Oakland Raiders head coach to the brains and brand behind Madden NFL, which paved the way for his rise to become arguably the greatest broadcaster the NFL has ever seen. Nicolas Cage will star as John Madden, and Christian Bale will play late Raiders owner Al Davis. This is Bale's fourth collaboration with Russell following "Amsterdam", "American Hustle" and "The Fighter".

If all the deals go through, Mulaney will play Trip Hawkins, who founded EA Sports and was a driving force in behind the Madden NFL video games; Hahn will play Madden's wife, Virginia; and Miller will play Davis' wife, Carol.

Production is expected to begin next month in Atlanta with Russell directing from his own script which follows an earlier draft by Cambron Clark. Todd Black is producing through his Escape Artists banner along with partners Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, and Jonathan Shukat alongside Russell and Matthew Budman. Escape Artists' David Bloomfield will executive produce.

"The Studio" is a satirical comedy series created by Multi-Emmy Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Frida Perez. The show marks the latest collaboration for Apple TV+ and Rogen, and joins the recently renewed Apple Original comedy "Platonic", in which Rogen stars and executive produces alongside Rose Byrne.

Rogen also stars as Matt Remick, the new head of the struggling Continental Studios, who must deal with internal conflicts, demanding artists, and corporate demands in a world where it is increasingly difficult for art and business to live together. Written and directed by Tamara Jenkins ("The Savages"), the dramedy "Private Life" stars Kathryn Hahn and Paul Giamatti as a couple in the throes of infertility who try to maintain their marriage as they descend deeper and deeper into the insular world of assisted reproduction and domestic adoption. The film also stars Kayli Carter, Molly Shannon, John Carroll Lynch and Denis O'Hare.

"Private Life" premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was released on October 5, 2018 by Netflix. The film has received mostly positive reviews from critics.
