Odessa Young And Maria Cid In Talks To Join Heat 2

Odessa Young ("The Narrow Road to the Deep North", "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere") and Maria Cid ("Eagle Knight") are in negotiations to join the cast of Michael Mann's sequel "Heat 2". Young is in talks for the role of Charlene, previously played by Ashley Judd in the 1995 original, while Cid is said to be Mann's top choice for Gabi, a new character who is the daughter of Neil McCauley's girlfriend in the sequel.

Mann will direct "Heat 2" from his own script based on his and Meg Gardiner's 2022 No. 1 New York Times bestselling novel. The iconic crime thriller "Heat" followed the cat-and-mouse game between master thief Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro) and LAPD detective Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino). "Heat 2" will function as both a sequel and a prequel, examining Hanna's Chicago years, McCauley's earlier criminal life, and the endeavours of Chris Shiherlis, played by Val Kilmer in the original, after surviving the 1995 film's botched bank robbery.

The cast already includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Adam Driver, Stephen Graham and Jason Clarke. The sequel is produced by Mann, Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt, Eric Roth and Shane Salerno. Amazon MGM will release the film in theaters.

Young recently wrapped production on the Netflix crime series "Rabbit, Rabbit" starring Adam Driver.

Christian Bale Joins Leonardo Dicaprio In Heat 2

Director Michael Mann's sequel "Heat 2" is moving forward, and it is already drawing strong interest from top talent. It has been previously reported that Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to join the cast of Mann's follow-up to the classic 1995 crime drama that starred Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. And now, it seems that Christian Bale is circling a major role. DiCaprio and Bale's roles are unknown at this time.

The film is being developed for Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists, and production is expected to begin next year for a 2027 release. Mann wrote the script based on his own 2022 bestseller co-authored with Meg Gardiner, which follows Val Kilmer's character Chris Shiherlis as he flees the LAPD and Lt. Vincent Hanna (Pacino) after the failed bank robbery from the original film. The story is both a sequel and a prequel that moves through multiple locations in North America, South America and Southeast Asia.

The second storyline is set in 1988 Chicago, and it follows McCauley, Shiherlis and their high-line crew as they execute scores on the West Coast, the U.S.-Mexico border and in the Windy City. At the same time, Hanna is cutting his teeth as a rising star in the Chicago Police Department chasing an ultraviolent gang of home invaders.

Mann, Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt will produce the film, while executive producers include Shane Salerno and Eric Roth. The film's budget is estimated at $150 million, and is also slated to receive $37.2 million in California tax credits, with a 77-day shoot planned in Los Angeles in 2026.

The sequel was originally set up at Warner Bros, but after a budgetary dispute, the studio exited the project in August 2025. In October 2025, Amazon MGM Studios' United Artists label beat out studios including Paramount Pictures and Sony Pictures for rights to the project.

Mann had this to say about the film's budget: "Heat 2’ is an expensive movie to make, but I believe it should be made at the proper size and scale. It's going to shoot in Chicago, Los Angeles and Paraguay, and possibly some parts of Singapore. People make dramas at a certain budget level, because of the costs, not because of anybody being greedy. If it was at a lower price, I could have made it anywhere. But it's complex. I can't get into all the politics of it".

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence to Star in Martin Scorsese's WHAT HAPPENS AT NIGHT

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence have joined Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese's upcoming project, an adaptation of the ghost story novel "What Happens at Night" by Peter Cameron. Apple Original Films is in talks to finance and produce the movie with Studiocanal. Studiocanal acquired the novel's rights in 2023, with Scorsese on board to produce and Oscar-nominated writer Patrick Marber ("Notes on a Scandal") adapting the screenplay.

The story follows a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby. They check into a cavernous, largely deserted hotel where they encounter an enigmatic cast of characters including a flamboyant chanteuse, a depraved businessman and a charismatic faith healer. Nothing is quite as it seems in this strange, frozen world. As the couple struggle to claim their baby, the less they seem to know about themselves and the life they've built together.

This marks the seventh collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio. Scorsese also produced Lawrence's upcoming film "Die My Love" directed by Lynne Ramsay, which was acquired by Mubi with plans for a November release. Apple was the studio behind Scorsese and DiCaprio's "Killers of the Flower Moon" and has first-look deals with their respective production banners, Sikelia and Appian Way. Leonardo Dicaprio Dwayne Johnson Emily Blunt Martin Scorsese New Film

Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are attached to star in an upcoming crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. Based on an original idea by Johnson and Blunt, the film is currently being shopped to studios and streamers.

The project has been described as a Hawaii-set combination of "The Departed" and "Goodfellas", and will be written by British-American journalist, author, and filmmaker Nick Bilton, who helmed the 2021 HBO documentary "Fake Famous".

Based on an untold true story, the film focuses on a turbulent time on the island paradise when an aspiring mob boss battled rival crime factions to wrest control of the underworld of the Hawaiian islands. In 1960s and 70s Hawaii, this formidable and charismatic mob boss rises to build the islands' most powerful criminal empire, waging a brutal war against mainland corporations and rival syndicates while fighting to preserve his ancestral land.

Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette and Rick Yorn will produce. Johnson and Blunt, who previously worked together on "Jungle Cruise", brought the project to Scorsese and DiCaprio, and once they expressed interest, they all went to Bilton to ask him about writing.

Johnson will reteam with Blunt on the Benny Safdi-directed "Smashing Machine", which will be released later this year. Meanwhile, DiCaprio and Scorsese are also working together on an adaptation of "The Devil in the White City".

Leonardo Dicaprio Martin Scorsese Devil In White City

Oscar-winner Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to star in the long-awaited "The Devil in the White City". The film is an adaptation of Erik Larson's 2004 bestselling nonfiction book "White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America", and will be produced and directed by Martin Scorsese. It has been reported that there is currently no script for the film.

The story follows Dr. HH Holmes, a cunning serial killer believed to have murdered anywhere from 27 to 200 people at a time when the city of Chicago was enthralled with hosting the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893. The book plays off the contrasts between the hopeful expectations and wonders presented at the exposition and the dark deeds of Holmes, who maneuvered in its shadows and built a carefully-concealed house of horrors.

The project has been in development for a long time. DiCaprio first nabbed the rights to the book in 2010, and at one point in time was even intended as a Hulu series. DiCaprio and Scorsese would also produce along with Stacey Sher, Rick Yorn and DiCaprio’s Appian Way partner Jennifer Davisson.

Warner Bros Acquires Stephen King Bestseller BILLY SUMMERS; J.J. Abrams to Produce Adaptation
Warner Bros has recently acquired the rights to Stephen King's 2021 novel "Billy Summers", and is looking to develop it into a feature, after last year it was initially planned as a ten-episode limited series.

The project will be produced by J.J. Abrams's Bad Robot and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way. Various sources seem to hint that the film may be directed by Abrams with DiCaprio starring in the lead role. Ed Zwick ("The Last Samurai", "Legends of the Fall", "Blood Diamond") and Marshall Herskovitz ("Jack Reacher: Never Go Back", "American Assassin") are writing the screenplay.

The story follows the titular protagonist, a hitman who is looking to retire and takes one last highly lucrative job. The job requires him to embed himself in a quiet town, where he pretends to be an aspiring writer. He sets up in an office with a direct view of where hitman Joel Allen will be delivered to face trial for shooting two men during a poker game. Allen also has committed enough murders for some high-level mobsters to be scared the gunman will incriminate his former employers to lessen his sentence. Summers, a meticulous craftsman, becomes more and more cynical about the mobsters who've hired him, and his skepticism is well warranted as things go awry following the job's completion.

Bad Robot previously adapted King's 2006 novel "Lisey's Story" and 2011's "11.22.63", and developed the Hulu original series "Castle Rock", which featured characters, locations and stories from his novels.

Leonardo DiCaprio in Final Talks to Star in and Produce MGM's JIM JONES Movie
Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio is in final talks to star in and produce MGM's "Jim Jones", a movie about the 1970s religious cult leader who was behind the Jonestown mass suicide on November 18, 1978 that took more than 900 lives, including 304 children.

DiCaprio will star as Jim Jones, the leader of the Peoples Temple religious group who constructed Jonestown in Guyana in 1974 and spurred a following to live with him there as he touted a socialist paradise free from U.S. government oppression.

Amid rumors of human rights abuses, the American government sent a delegation led by U.S. Representative Leo Ryan in November 1978. Ryan, along with four others, would eventually be gunned down by Jones' followers. Following the shooting, Jones orchestrated the massacre at the jungle commune in Guyana, in an act that entailed drinking Flavor Aid laced with cyanide.

Scott Rosenberg ("Venom") penned the screenplay, which the studio acquired in a seven figure deal. DiCaprio will produce for his Appian Way company alongside Jennifer Davisson. Rosenberg is also on board as an executive producer.

The actor can next be seen in Adam McKay's "Don't Look Up" and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon".
