"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" continues to deliver massive numbers at the box office in its second weekend in theaters. Meanwhile, "The Odyssey" continues to hold strong even against the Marvel superhero behemoth, as Christopher Nolan's epic has crossed the $1 billion milestone after four weeks. Two new R-rated wide releases, the rom-com "One Night Only" and "Super Troopers 3" dared to go against the cinematic titans, but were swiftly crushed. Eli Roth's semi-wide release of his latest gore-fest "Ice Cream Man" failed to attract genre fans, but made the Top 10.

"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is a massive breadwinner for Sony. The film raked in $144.2 million in its second weekend, which is a steep 59.9%, but still decent considering how incredibly massive its opening weekend was. The film's domestic total is now at $654.3 million, while overseas it has crossed the $1 billion mark. It's the second-fastest movie to reach the billion-dollar mark overseas, behind "Avengers: Endgame", the biggest movie of the year, as well as the 12th highest-grossing movie of all time. The worldwide total is $1.66 billion, and the film cost $250 million to produce.
Nolan's "The Odyssey" continues to perform well, holding in second place with $31.7 million, which is a solid 37.9% drop in its fourth weekend. The film has now grossed $461.3 million in North America, and another $649.9 million from foreign markets. The worldwide cume is now at $1.11 billion, surpassing "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises" as Nolan's highest grossing movie.
"One Night Only" opened in third place with $5.5 million from 3,012 theaters. The film cost around $25 million to produce, which means it would need around $50 million to break even. Director Will Gluck's 2023 movie "Anyone But You" opened with $6 million on Christmas weekend, and went on to gross $88.3 million domestically and $132 million internationally. Unfortunately, I don't think that "One Night Only" will be able to pull off a similar feat. "One Night Only" was not loved by critics (45% on Rotten Tomatoes), and audiences were mixed on it ("B+" CinemaScore).
In fourth place we find "Toy Story 5" with $4.2 million in its eight weekend. The film dropped only 37.7%. Domestically, the film has now grossed $470.6 million, while overseas it raked in $624.2 million for a global total of $1.09 billion against a $250 million production budget.
The Top 5 is rounded out by another new arrival, the comedy sequel "Super Troopers 3", which opened with just $4 million from 2,760 theaters. The franchise was never a huge hit theatrically. The first film in the series was released in 2001 and opened with $6.2 million, ending its theatrical run with $18.4 million in North America and $4.6 million overseas. It only cost $3 million to produce. "Super Troopers 2" opened in 2018 with $15.1 million and went on to gross $30.6 million domestically and $1 million internationally. The budget was $13.5 million. While no budget information was released for "Super Troopers 3", it can't be lower than $10 million, and it doesn't look like the movie will make a profit. The critical reception was negative (49% on Rotten Tomatoes), while the audience reception was lukewarm ("B-" CinemaScore).

In other news, Oscillosope Laboratories released the compilation of cat videos "CatVideoFest 2026" in 255 theaters and made the Top 10 with $568,414.
