Amy Adams, Adam McKay Reunite For Netflix Limited Series KINGS OF AMERICA
Amy Adams is set to reteam with "Vice" director Adam McKay for Netflix's upcoming limited series "Kings of America", which is based on the true story of a class action lawsuit against Walmart.

Created and written by journalist and author Jess Kimball Leslie ("I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It."), the miniseries centers on the stories of three women whose lives were inextricably intertwined with the world's largest company: a Walmart heiress, a maverick executive, and a longtime Walmart saleswoman and preacher who dared to fight against the retail giant in the biggest class action lawsuit in US history.

The six-time Oscar nominated actress will star as one of the leads, although which one is unknown at this point. She will also executive produce alongside McKay and Leslie. Emmy nominee Diana Son ("13 Reasons Why") will executive produce and serve as showrunner. McKay will direct the first episode.

Adams recently starred in Joe Wright's adaptation of "The Woman in the Window", which was recently acquired by Netflix from 20th Century Studios. She has also signed on to star in an adaptation of Rachel Yoder's novel "Nightbitch".

McKay was set to start filming his next film, the comedy "Don't Look Up" starring Jennifer Lawrence, for Netflix in April, but production was halted due to the COVID pandemic. He has several other projects on his plate, including HBO's series about the Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980s, a limited series about Jeffrey Epstein and a series adaptation of this year's Best Picture winner "Parasite".

Jennifer Lawrence to Star in Adam McKay's Netflix Comedy DON'T LOOK UP
Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in an upcoming comedy from Adam McKay ("Vice", "The Big Short") that will debut on Netflix later this year.

Written, directed and produced by McKay, "Don't Look Up" follows two low-level astronomers who embark on media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy planet Earth. Filming is expected to begin in April.

Here's what McKay had to say about Lawrence and Netflix:
"I'm so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence. She's what folks in the 17th century used to call 'a dynamite talent'. And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.".

McKay and Lawrence are also working together on another project, a movie about Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of health technology corporation Theranos, which was once valued at $9 billion, but quickly became infamous for a revolutionary product that turned out to be a fake.

Lawrence also recently wrapped production on Lila Neugebauer's untitled film for A24 and Scott Rudin Productions. She is also attached to star in and produce Paolo Sorrentino's "Mob Girl".
