"Project Hail Mary" continues to surprise everyone with how well it's performing. The Ryan Gosling starrer absolutely dominated the Top 10 in its second weekend, but it didn't have much in the way of competition, as only two small budget horror flicks were released over the weekend: "They Will Kill You" and "Forbidden Fruits". Neither made much of an impression.

"Project Hail Mary" is the #1 movie at the box office for a second consecutive week, raking in another $54 million, down just 32.8% from an already spectacular debut. The film has now grossed a total of $163.8 million domestically and another $153.2 million internationally, which adds up to $317 million worldwide after 10 days in theaters. The film cost $200 million, and with marketing costs it would need around $400 million to break even, but it doesn't look like that will be a problem. It has already surpassed "Creed III" ($156.2 million) as Amazon/MGM’s highest grossing movie.
Pixar's "Hoppers" is holding in second place in its fourth weekend, grossing $12.1 million, which is a soft 31.7% drop from last week. It's doing well, but not for long, as next week Universal releases "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" in theaters. "Hoppers" has now grossed $138.5 million in North America, and another $159 million from foreign markets, which adds up to $297.5 million worldwide against a $150 million budget. Once it crosses the $300 million mark, it should start turning a profit, although it's far from Pixar's biggest movies.
"They Will Kill You" opened in third place with $4.9 million from 2,778 theaters. Not a great start for the Warner Bros flick. Overseas it only adds another $4 million. Even though the film only cost $20 million to produce, it's still a flop for the studio. Both the critical and audience reception were mixed (63% on Rotten Tomatoes and "B-" CinemaScore).
At #4 we find the Colleen Hoover adaptation "Reminders of Him", which has become something of a sleeper hit. The domestic total has reached $41 million, while overseas it raked in $26.6 million. That adds up to a global cume of $67.6 million against a $25 million budget.
The Top 5 is rounded out by "Dhurandhar The Revenge" with 4.6 million, down 54.1% from its record-breaking debut. The film has grossed a total of $22.6 million in North American theaters, while internationally it adds another $124.8 million for a worldwide total of $147.4 million.
Another new release, IFC's horror comedy "Forbidden Fruits", starring Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti and Alexandra Shipp, opened in tenth place with $1.1 million from 1,525 theaters. There's no budget information available for the film, but this is IFC's fifth-best opening, below "Clown in a Cornfield" ($3.6 million), "Late Night with the Devil" ($2.8 million), "Good Boy" ($2.3 million), and "In a Violent Nature" ($2.1 million). It's also the studio's eighth film to open in over 1,000 theaters.
Meanwhile, "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" is struggling in its second weekend, raking in only $4.1 million, which is a steep 54.5% drop from its already lackluster debut. After 10 days in theaters, the sequel grossed $16.4 million, and overseas it adds another $7.2 million for a global total of $23.6 million against a $14 million budget.
