Weekend Box Office: PROJECT HAIL MARY Continues To Dominate in Sophomore Frame

"Project Hail Mary" continues to surprise everyone with how well it's performing. The Ryan Gosling starrer absolutely dominated the Top 10 in its second weekend, but it didn't have much in the way of competition, as only two small budget horror flicks were released over the weekend: "They Will Kill You" and "Forbidden Fruits". Neither made much of an impression.

FORBIDDEN FRUITS (2026) - Trailers, Clip, Images and Posters

"Forbidden Fruits" is a horror comedy directed by Meredith Alloway in her feature debut from a script she co-wrote alongside Lily Houghton based on her own 2019 play "Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die". The film is produced by Diablo Cody ("Juno", "Jennifer's Body"), and it stars Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain and Gabrielle Union. "Forbidden Fruits" has premiered 2026 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, and was released in theaters on March 27, 2026.

Today we have new trailers for:

• THe horror comedy "Forbidden Fruits" starring Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union. • The supernatural horror film "Obsession" marking the feature debut of writer/director Curry Barker, best known as one half of the internet sketch comedy duo That's a Bad Idea alongside Cooper Tomlinson. Barker also directed the found-footage short "Milk & Serial". The film stars Michael Johnson, Inde Navarrette, Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless and Lucy Lawless.
• James McAvoy's directorial debut "California Schemin’", a hip-hop biopic starring Samuel Bottomley, Seamus McLean Ross, McAvoy, Lucy Halliday, Rebekah Murrell and James Corden.
• The fantasy action comedy "Panda Plan 2: The Magical Tribe" starring Jackie Chan.
• The French period drama "The Stranger" ("L'Étranger)" written and directed by François Ozon based on Albert Camus' classic novel. The film stars Benjamin Voisin, Rebecca Marder, Pierre Lottin, Denis Lavant and Swann Arlaud. It was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival.
• The Swiss medical drama "Late Shift" written/directed by Petra Volpe ("The Divine Order"), and starring German actress Leonie Benesch.

• The drama "My Father's Shadow" from British-Nigerian filmmaker Akinola Davies Jr.. The film stars Sope Dirisu, and it won the Special Mention for the Camera d'Or ar this year's Cannes Film Festival.
• The psychological thriller "The Dutchman" starring Andre Holland, Kate Mara, Aldis Hodge and Zazie Beetz.
