Weekend Box Office Super Mario Galaxy Movie Lee Cronins The Mummy

"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" and "Project Hail Mary" are still leading the pack at the box office, which leaves little room for new contenders to break in. Meanwhile, Blumhouse's latest horror film "Lee Cronin's The Mummy" and the action thriller "Normal" starring Bob Odenkirk both underperformed in their debut.

Weekend Box Office Super Mario Galaxy Movie You Me Tuscany Faces Of Death

"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" performed extremely well in its second weekend and still dominates the box office, while "Project Hail Mary" is also holding strong in second place. Even the R-rated dark dramedy "The Drama" starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is doing a lot better than expected. With such strong competition in the top spots, new arrivals like the romantic comedy "You, Me & Tuscany" and the horror film "Faces of Death", were left struggling and barely made a dent.

Weekend Box Office Project Hail Mary Dominates Second Frame

"Project Hail Mary" continues to surprise everyone with how well it's performing. The Ryan Gosling starrer absolutely dominated the Top 10 in its second weekend, but it didn't have much in the way of competition, as only two small budget horror flicks were released over the weekend: "They Will Kill You" and "Forbidden Fruits". Neither made much of an impression.

Weekend Box Office Project Hail Mary

"Project Hail Mary" scored a big win for the sci-fi genre, effortlessly dominating the box office with a surprisingly solid debut, and demonstrating that you don't need a proven IP to get moviegoers into theaters. Another surprising debut is that of the Bollywood sequel "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", which broke the record for the biggest opening weekend of all-time for a Bollywood film in North America. Sadly, the horror sequel "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" didn't do so well.
