Academy Award nominee Jacob Elordi ("Frankenstein", "Wuthering Heights") is in talks to star in A24's new film "Scapegoat" written and directed by Ari Aster ("Hereditary", "Midsommar"). The project marks the latest collaboration between Aster and the studio.
The film's plot is being kept under wraps. Scarlett Johansson was the first confirmed to lead the cast. Early speculation surrounding the narrative range from a thriller involving a doctor operating on an internet personality, to a sci-fi romance or a more traditional drama. Lars Knudsen is producing alongside Aster via Square Peg.
This spring, Elordi wrapped up his tenure on "Euphoria" with the show's third and final season. The actor can next be seen in Ridley Scott's post-apocalyptic survival thriller "The Dog Stars" based on Peter Heller's bestselling novel. The film also stars Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, and Guy Pearce, and it will be released in theaters on August 28, 2026.
