Behrs and Dennings starred together in the CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls" that aired between 2011 and 2017. She also reunites with executive producer Michelle Nader.
"Shifting Gears" follows Matt (Tim Allen), the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When his estranged daughter, Riley, and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins. The cast also includes Seann William Scott as Gabriel, Daryl Chill Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter, and Barrett Margolis as Georgia.
The third season will premiere in 2027. The show is executive produced by Allen, showrunner Michelle Nader, Bob Daily, Jim Patterson, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, and John Amodeo. Dennings also serves as a producer. 20th Television is the studio.
