America Yakuza 1993 New On Bluray

Product Description: IN AMERICA, THEY CALL IT THE MAFIA... IN JAPAN, THEY CALL IT YAKUZA... WHEN THEY MEET, THEY CALL IT WAR!

When Japanese filmmaking powerhouse Toei Pictures decided to expand their iconic V-Cinema line to North America, the first result was the explosively violent American Yakuza, featuring an early lead performance from Viggo Mortensen in the title role.

Ex-convict Nick Davis (Mortensen) gets a job in a factory that turns out to be owned by a powerful Japanese crime family. When Nick intervenes in a fiery confrontation and saves the life of family member Shuji (Ryo Ishibashi, Audition), he finds himself climbing the deadly ranks of the Yakuza in its bloody war against the Mafia. There's one problem, however; Nick's real name is David Brandt, and he's an undercover FBI agent whose loyalties will soon be tested to their breaking point.

Featuring an outstanding supporting cast including Michael Nouri (The Hidden), Franklyn Ajaye (Deadwood), Nicky Katt (Grindhouse) and Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), director Frank Cappello weaves an exhilarating tale of deception and betrayal in this underseen trans-continental gangster thriller.

A History Of Violence 2005 New On Bluray And 4k Criterion Collection

Product Description: In David Cronenberg’s subtly provocative film, one of his most celebrated, all is not as it initially seems. In his first of many collaborations with the director, Viggo Mortensen delivers a highly nuanced performance as Tom Stall, a small-town husband and father who is hailed as a hero when he kills the would-be perpetrators of a violent robbery. But how did this ordinary family man dispatch them with such skill? Working with an exceptional cast that also includes Maria Bello, Ed Harris, and William Hurt, Cronenberg slyly deconstructs the mythos of the American action hero, posing elemental questions about identity, human nature, and the violence that we both abhor and can’t look away from.

Eureka 2023 New On Bluray

Product Description: Traversing time, space and genre, Argentinian filmmaker Lisandro Alonso (Jauja) presents an elliptical meditation on the experiences of indigenous communities across the Americas. Opening in a dusty town of the Old West, reality soon transitions to contemporary South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation before finally landing in the jungles of 1970s Brazil. As the triptych unfolds, each temporal and spatial shift provokes metaphysical questions about colonial influence on native peoples and the ever-present tensions between indigeneity and the Western world. Featuring three-time Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen, EUREKA is a graceful refraction of history and place, marking it Alonso’s “most expansive and ambitious film to date” (Screen Anarchy).

The Reflecting Skin 1990 New On Bluray

Product Description: An instant cult classic when it premiered to sold out screenings at Cannes in 1990, THE REFLECTING SKIN is a darkly humorous, nightmarish vision of the American dream. Viggo Mortensen Shia Labeouf Courtney Love Jfk Assassination Thriller

Previously titled "2 Days/1963", the upcoming thriller "Assassination" is assembling quite an impressive cast which now includes Courtney Love, Viggo Mortensen, Shia LaBeouf, Al Pacino and John Travolta.

Here is the film's official synopsis: "1963. During a crucial justice hearing against organized crime, the head of the Chicago mob orders the assassination of President John F. Kennedy Jr., creating a deadly conspiracy while altering the fate of a nation.". The film is said to take place 48 hours before the assassination, telling the mob's version of the story.

Directed by Pulitzer Prize winner and Oscar nominee David Mamet ("Wag the Dog"), the film is written by Mamet and Nicholas Celozzi, who based the script on his great uncle, the Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana, who may have played a significant role in orchestrating Kennedy’s assassination. According to details shared by Celozzi's late uncle Pepe (Giancana’s brother), the mob's hand in the assassination was payback for the president's alleged snubbing of Giancana and his campaign against organized crime, despite his reliance on the mob during elections.

Oscar-winning director of photography Robert Elswitt ("There Will Be Blood"), is the film's cinematographer. Production is scheduled to start in September in Vancouver.

Viggo Mortensen Kristen Stewart Lea Seydoux In David Cronenbergs New Movie

David Cronenberg's new directorial project "Crimes of the Future" has gathered quite an impressive cast which will be led by Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart are set to lead. Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar and Lihi Kornowski (Apple TV's "Losing Alice") are also set to star.. Mortensen and Cronenberg have previously worked together on "A History of Violence" and "Eastern Promises".

The film is Cronenberg's first original screenplay since 1999's "EXistenZ", and it's a deep dive into the not-so-distant future where humankind is learning to adapt to its synthetic surroundings. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, altering their biological makeup. While some embrace the limitless potential of trans-humanism, others attempt to police it. Either way, "Accelerated Evolution Syndrome" is spreading fast.

The story follows Saul Tenser (Mortensen), a beloved performance artist who has embraced Accelerated Evolution Syndrome, sprouting new and unexpected organs in his body. Along with his partner Caprice, Tenser has turned the removal of these organs into a spectacle for his loyal followers to marvel at in real-time theatre. But with both the government and a strange subculture taking note, Tenser is forced to consider what would be his most shocking performance of all.

Cronenberg will also reunite with producer Robert Lantos, his longtime production designer Carol Spier ("Crash", "Dead Ringers") and three-time Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore ("A History of Violence").

Dylan O’Brien In Talks To Star In Peter Farrelly's Vietnam War Film
Dylan O'Brien ("Maze Runner") is in talks for the lead role in Peter Farrelly's Vietnam War movie. The film is based on the book "The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War" by Joanna Molloy and John "Chickie" Donohue.

The screenplay will be adapted by Farrelly and Brian Currie, the co-writer of "Green Book", and Pete Jones ("Hall Pass"). The cast already includes Viggo Mortensen in a supporting role, and Thomasin McKenzie ("Jojo Rabbit") is being eyed for the film's female lead.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Andrew Muscato will serve as producers. The project is being overseen at Skydance by Granger, Goldberg and Aimee Rivera.

Dylan O'Brien can next be seen in two Paramount films, the sci-fi flick "Infinite" and the adventure comedy "Monster Problems".

Here is the book's synopsis:
"'The Greatest Beer Run Ever' is the astounding true story of a young man's odyssey. On these pages we accompany Chick Donohue as he takes us on a fantastic voyage from the streets of Manhattan via the high seas to the jungles and cities of Vietnam at the height of a war fought mostly by forgotten blue collar kids. Back in 1968, Donohue was a man on a singular mission - to prove to the soldiers and Marines from the neighborhood that they were not forgotten and never would be. On the way, Donohue lets no obstacle get in his way - not bemused military officials startled by his presence in a combat zone nor Viet Cong rocket fire. This book is both a testament to the fading notions of loyalty and brotherhood and an elegy for the working class enclaves that once formed the backbone of a city and nation.".
