MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE (2026) - Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"Masters of the Universe" is a sword-and-sorcery film directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Travis Knight ("Kubo and the Two Strings", "Bumblebee") from a script by Chris Butler ("Kubo and the Two Strings", "ParaNorman"), Aaron Nee & David Callahan ("The Lost City") based on Mattel's media franchise. A previous live-action adaptation starring Dolph Lundgren was released in 1987.

The cast includes Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Kristen Wiig, Jared Leto, and Idris Elba. The film opened in theaters on June 5, 2026.

Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani Return For Action Sequel EXTRACTION 3

The action sequel "Extraction 3" is set to begin production this summer following the announcement that series star Chris Hemsworth has closed a deal to reprise his role as mercenary Tyler Rake. Also back on board are Idris Elba and Golshifteh Farahani, alongside series director Sam Hargrave. The script is written by David Weil ("Citadel").

Plot details are being kept under wraps. The series is based on the graphic novel "Ciudad" by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando Leon Gonzalez. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco and Ari Costa will produce through AGBO. Hemsworth and Benjamin Grayson produce via Wild State alongside Hargrave, Patrick Newall, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin. Steven V. Scavelli is executive producing.

Hargrave previously stated that a third installment was in the works, but it all depended on the busy schedules of its A-list stars. Once he was done promoting his latest film, the thriller "Crime 101", Hemsworth started focusing on his next projects and found the latest "Extraction 3" script to be his best option. Once Hemsworth was on board, the studio aimed for a summer shoot to accommodate his other production, "Kockroach", which begins production this month.

"Extraction" and "Extraction 2" have proven to be quite successful, making it onto Netflix's Most Popular English Films list. When it was released in 2020, "Extraction" broke viewership records for Netflix and received two Critics' Choice Movie Awards nominations: Best Action Movie and Best Actor in an Action Movie (Hemsworth). The sequel surpassed the streaming numbers of the first film.

"Zootopia 2" is an animated comedy sequel directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard from a script written by Bush. A HOUSE OF DYNAMITE (2025) - Trailers, Images and Posters

"A House of Dynamite" is a political thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker") from a script by Noah Oppenheim ("Jackie"). The ensemble cast includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso, Jared Harris, Tracy Letts, Anthony Ramos, Moses Ingram, Jonah Hauer-King, Greta Lee and Jason Clarke. The film premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival where it was nominated for the Golden Lion. It opened in select theaters on October 10, 2025 and had its global streaming debut on October 24th via Netflix.

"Fixed" is an adult animated comedy directed by Genndy Tartakovsky ("Samurai Jack", "Primal"). The script was penned by Tartakovsky and Jon Vitti. The film was originally set at Warner Bros for distribution, but its theatrical release was cancelled by Warner Bros Discovery as a cost-saving measure. It was later acquired by Netlix and was eventually released by the streamer on August 13th. The voice cast includes Adam DeVine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Bobby Moynihan, Michelle Buteau, River Gallo and Grey DeLisle.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is the third installment in the film series based on SEGA's video game franchise. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler from a script by Pat Casey, Josh Miller and John Whittington. The cast includes Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Krysten Ritter and Keanu Reeves. Idris Elba in Talks to Play Man-at-Arms in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE for Amazon MGM

Idris Elba is in final negotiations to join the upcoming "Masters of the Universe" live-action movie developed by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Travis Knight ("Bumblebee", "Kubo and the Two String") from a script by Chris Butler ("ParaNorman", "Missing Link"). The initial draft of the screenplay was penned by David Callaham, Aaron Nee and Adam Nee.

Elba will play the role of Duncan, Man-At-Arms, who for centuries has been the weapons master and combat instructor to the royal family. He was trained by Dekker and is a veteran of the Great Unrest, and he was tasked by King Randor to create the elite strike force, which he named The Masters of the Universe. Man-At-Arms and his adopted daughter Teela often scout the borders of Eternia for signs of lurking evil.

The cast also includes Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, and Camila Mendes as Teela. The film is a coproduction between Escape Artists and Mattel and produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner and Steve Tisch. The "Masters of the Universe" film hits theaters June 5, 2026

Elba is currently filming Kathryn Bigelow's untitled White House thriller for Netflix.
