When the first trailer for
"Sonic the Hedgehog" was released, it received overwhelmingly negative reactions from fans regarding the titular character's design. Paramount quickly reacted and delayed the film in order to redesign Sonic and replace all the film's CGI. Originally set to open in theaters on November 8, 2019, the film was eventually released on Februray 14, 2020. While the film has received mostly mixed reviews, Sonic's design has been getting positive notices.
