"Valley of the Boom" is a six-part docudrama miniseries created by Matthew Carnahan ("House of Lies") that explores the culture of speculation, innovation and debauchery that led to the rapid inflation and burst of the 1990s tech bubble. The focus, specifically, is on Netscape, the early web browser; TheGlobe.com, an early social network; and Pixelon, a video streamer.
The limited series mixes real-life documentary interviews with scripted drama. The cast includes Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, Bradley Whitford, John Karna, Oliver Cooper, Dakota Shapiro and John Murphy.
"Valley of the Boom" premiered on January 13, 2019 on National Geographic and received mostly mixed reviews from critics.
