Weekend Box-Office: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3 Debuts With Franchise Best

The animated threequel "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" opened in theaters with a franchise record and ended the box-office drought that has plagued the first two months of 2019. Also, the wrestling biopic "Fighting With my Family" expanded nationwide and performed relatively well.

In Theaters: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3, FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY, THE CHANGEOVER and RUN THE RACE

Universal and DreamWorks Animation's threequel "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" is now in theaters and looks primed to explode at the box-office. The film has received a very enthusiastic response from both critics and moviegoers and has already brought in $3 million from Thursday night previews, and pundits expect it to finish its opening weekend with around $50 million.

Meanwhile, the well received wrestling biopic "Fighting With My Family" executive produced by Dwayne Johnson that stars Florence Pugh as WWE Superstar Paige, has expanded nationwide.

In limited release it might be worth checking out the supernatural thriller "The Changeover" based on Margaret Mahy's fantasy novel of the same name, and the faith-based sports drama "Run the Race".

FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY (2019) - Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

Written and directed by Stephen Merchant, the biopic "Fighting with My Family" is based on the incredible true story of WWE Superstar Saraya "Paige" Bevis, from growing up in a household of professional wrestlers to winning the WWE Divas Championship in 2014. The cast features Florence Pugh, Jack Lowden, Nick Frost, Lena Headey and Vince Vaughn. Dwayne Johnson executive produced the film and also has a cameo as himself.

"Fighting with My Family" premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and received a limited release in the U.S. on February 14, 2019. It expanded nationwide on February 22, 2019. The film is set to open in the U.K. on February 27th.

• The indie drama "Diane" starring Mary Kay Place and Jake Lacy. The film won Best Narrative Feature, Screenplay and Cinematography at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.
• The semi-autobiographical British drama "The Souvenir" from indie filmmaker Joanna Hogg ("Unrelated", "Exhibition"). Executive produced by Martin Scorsese, the film stars Tilda Swinton and her daughter Honor Swinton Byrne.
• The HBO documentary "The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley" from Oscar and Emmy winning documentarian Alex Gibney ("Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room", "Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief").
• The seventh and final season of the comedy series "Veep" starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The cyberpunk action film "Alita: Battle Angel" has arrived in theaters. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez ("Sin City") with "Avatar" filmmaker James Cameron serving as co-writer and producer. The Blumhouse sequel "Happy Death Day 2U" starring Jessica Rothe and the satirical romcom "Isn't It Romantic" starring Rebel Wilson have also been released this week.
