Weekend Box-Office: MADEA Fails to Defeat HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3

Although it made a decent amount of money in its opening weekend and even outperformed expectations, the ninth and thankfully last installment in Tyler Perry's Madea franchise failed to secure the top position at the box-office as DreamWorks Animation's threequel "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" managed to maintain its dominance. Meanwhile, the new release "Greta" was a bit of a disaster.

Weekend Box-Office: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3 Debuts With Franchise Best

The animated threequel "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" opened in theaters with a franchise record and ended the box-office drought that has plagued the first two months of 2019. Also, the wrestling biopic "Fighting With my Family" expanded nationwide and performed relatively well.

Weekend Box-Office: ALITA BATTLE ANGEL Tops Slow President's Day Weekend

The holiday weekend at the box-office has been slow. In fact, it has been the worst since 2004. The leader of the pack was Fox's "Alita: Battle Angel", and the satirical romantic comedy "Isn't It Romantic" also performed well. The Blumhouse sequel "Happy Death Day 2U", however, fell short of expectations.

Weekend Box-Office: LEGO MOVIE 2 Tops the Charts But Still Disappoints

Everyone was expecting "The LEGO Movie 2" would make the difference at the box-office over the weekend, but while the film succeeded in topping the charts, it actually came in much lower than estimated. However, fellow new releases, "What Men Want" and "Cold Pursuit" performed better than expected and evened things out a bit.

THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART Trailers, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Posters

"The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" is a sequel to the 2014 animated feature "The Lego Movie", and the fourth installment in the LEGO cinematic franchise. The original film's helmers and writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller returned to pen the script and produce.

Mike Mitchell ("Trolls") steps in the director's chair of the sequel, which is set five years after the events of the first film as the heroes of Bricksburg are reunited to once again save their beloved city from a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space. The film features the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Maya Rudolph, Will Ferrell, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade.

"The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" opened in theaters on February 8, 2019 and received mostly positive reviews from critics.
