"Irish Blood" is a new drama series that stars Alicia Silverstone as a divorce lawyer who receives a message from her estranged father and embarks on a journey to Ireland where she uncovers family truths and her father's dark past. The cast also includes Jason O'Mara, Wendy Crewson, Dearhbhla Molloy, Simone Kirby, Ruth Codd, Barry John Kinsella and Leonardo Taiwo. The series premiered on August 11 on Acorn TV.

Alicia Silverstone to Star in Acorn TV Series IRISH BLOOD

Alicia Silverstone ("Clueless", "The Crush") is set to lead Acorn TV's upcoming series "Irish Blood". The show will consist of six one-hour episodes. The cast also includes Wendy Crewson, Jason O’Mara, Dearbhla Molloy, Simone Kirby, Ruth Codd and Leonardo Taiwo. Production on the series is now underway in and around Dublin.

"Irish Blood" is the story of a woman discovering herself and confronting her past after traveling abroad unexpectedly. Silverstone stars as Fiona Sharpe, described as a hot-shot Los Angeles divorce lawyer who receives a letter from her estranged father and sets out to uncover the mystery of his disappearance. The actress had this to say about the project: "I love how unpredictable the storytelling feels and the combination of drama, humor and suspense my character experiences".

According to the show's synopsis, Fiona's path in life is earmarked by her father, Declan, who seemingly abandoned her and her mother on her tenth birthday. After years of channelling anger toward him, to the benefit of her litigious clients, a message from her father sends her to Ireland. There she learns key truths about her father as well as a family that doesn't know she exists, and, moreover, that the story of abandonment that has shaped her entire life – was a lie. A lie intended to protect her and her mother from her father's shady business dealings. Fiona resolves to uncover the full truth about her father and reconnect with the parent she only thought she knew.

The series hails from writers Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Mike O'Leary, and John Krizanc. Christina Jennings, Scott Garvie, Paul Donovan, Ailish McElmeel, Aaron Martin, Christina Ray, Silverstone, and Molly McGlynn executive produce. Paige Haight and Catherine McGee produce. The series is directed by McGlynn.

"Irish Blood" is produced by Shaftesbury and Deadpan Pictures, in association with AMC Studios and with the support of incentives for the Irish Film Industry provided by the government of Ireland, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and Ontario Creates. AMC Studios holds worldwide distribution rights.

Silverstone recently wrapped production on the Yorgos Lanthimos film "Bugonia".

"Good Sam" is a medical drama created by Katie Wech. The show stars Sophia Bush as a heart surgeon who clashes with her father (Jason Isaacs), who also happens to be her boss, when he returns to work after recovering from a coma. The cast also includes Skye P. Marshall, Michael Stahl-David, Omar Maskati, Wendy Crewson and Edwin Hodge. The series premiered on January 5, 2022 on CBS.

"Into the Forest" is a drama from writer/director Patricia Rozema ("Mansfield Park") based on the novel by Jean Hegland.

The film stars Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood as two sisters who learn to survive on their own in their isolated house in the Canadian woods after a worldwide power outage brings humanity on the brink of apocalypse.
