When Marnie Was There New On Dvd Bluray

Product Description: From Japan's famed Studio Ghibli comes is a sweeping story of friendship, mystery and discovery that delivers stirring emotions and breathtaking animation as only Studio Ghibli can. When shy, artistic Anna moves to the seaside to live with her aunt and uncle, she stumbles upon an old mansion surrounded by marshes, and the mysterious young girl, Marnie, who lives there. The two girls instantly form a unique connection and friendship that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. As the days go by, a nearly magnetic pull draws Anna back to the Marsh House again and again, and she begins to piece together the truth surrounding her strange new friend. Based on the beloved young adult novel by Joan G. Robinson and directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty), When Marnie Was There is a haunting tale gorgeously rendered with its moonlit seascapes, glowing orchestral score, and powerful portrayals of friendship and belonging.

in-theaters-tomorrowland-poltergeist-when-marnie-was-there-aloft

The weekend will easily be dominated by Disney's sci-fi adventure "Tomorrowland" starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson, although reviews haven't been great. Another wide release this week is the "Poltergeist" remake produced by Sam Raimi. I personally feel that the classic horror film did not need updating, especially since every modern haunted house film either rips off or honors the original. The most notable limited releases of the week are Hiromasa Yonebayashi's animated feature "When Marnie Was There" and the drama "Aloft" starring Jennifer Connelly. More about each movie after the jump.
