Meanwhile, Blumhouse's latest horror film "Lee Cronin's The Mummy" and the action thriller "Normal" starring Bob Odenkirk both underperformed in their debut.

"The Super Mario Galaxy Movie" is still the #1 movie at the box office, grossing $36.4 million in its third weekend. That's a somewhat comfortable 46.4% drop from last week, but it's currently trailing behind the first film at this point. The sequel's domestic total has reached $356.7 million, while overseas it adds another $393.9 million for a global total of $750.7 million against a $110 million budget.
In second place, "Project Hail Mary" is holding with $20.5 million, down just 15%. The film added three new screens over the weekend. The sci-fi film has now grossed a total of $285.1 million domestically and $288 million internationally, which adds up to $573.1 million worlwdide against a $248 million budget.
"Lee Cronin's The Mummy" opened in third place with a disappointing $13.5 million from 3,304 theaters, which is on par with Blumhouse's "The Wolf Man". At least it wasn't expensive, costing around $22 million to make. Overseas, the film added another $20.9 million for a global total of $34.4 million. The film received a negative reception from both critics and moviegoers (46% on Rotten Tomatoes and "C+" CinemaScore).
The dramedy "The Drama" starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson finished its third week in fourth place with $4.8 million, a 43.7% decline from the previous frame. The film has now grossed $39.6 million in North America, and another $43.3 million from foreign markets. This brings its global tally to $82.9 million against a $28 million budget.
The Top 5 is rounded out by the romantic comedy "You, Me & Tuscany", which dropped 49.7% from its debut and grossed $3.8 million in its sophomore frame, despite adding six additional screens over the weekend. The film has now grossed $14.4 million domestically and another $2.2 million from overseas markets. The film cost $18 million to produce, but marketing costs pushed its total budget to $45 million, making it a flop for Universal Pictures.
The Bob Odenkirk action thriller "Normal" also flopped, opening in seventh place with $2.5 million from 2,060 theaters. The film's budget is estimated at around $20 million. The critical reception was mostly positive (75% on Rotten Tomatoes), but moviegoers didn't seem to enjoy it ("C+" CinemaScore).
Meanwhile, at #8, "BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Japan: Live Viewing", which was once again released for one night only on Saturday, grossed another $1.8 million. Last Saturday, the documentary grossed $2.44 million.
In other news, the comedy "Busboys" starring Theo Von and David Spade opened in ninth place with $1.6 million. The film was funded by the two actors, and its budget is estimated at around $3 million. And in tenth place, we find the Hindi horror comedy "Bhooth Bangla", which made its debut with $950,000 from 500 theaters.
