"Captain Tsunami", originally titled "Captain Tsunami's Army", is a fantasy mystery drama directed by Aaron Sherr in his feature directorial debut from a script by P.J. Marino ("Gotham Adjacent", "Don't Say It"). Marino also stars alongside Madeleine McGraw ("The Black Phone", "Black Phone 2"), Craig Frank, Tessa Munro, Jeremy Sisto, Archie Kao, Cameron Meyer and Rick Howland. The film was released on digital platforms on April 23, 2026.

"Glenn is a quiet, withdrawn comic book store owner whose life has settled into routine and isolation. One night, that calm is shattered when Emma, a sharp and determined twelve-year-old, appears at his doorstep alone, frightened, and carrying a bag of comic artwork created by her mother. Emma’s mother, once the love of Glenn’s life, has mysteriously disappeared, leaving behind only cryptic instructions to bring her artwork to Glenn if anything should ever happen. The drawings chronicle the adventures of Captain Tsunami, a heroic figure rooted in the mother’s childhood and deeply tied to her sense of identity and survival. As Glenn takes responsibility for Emma, the two form an uneasy bond. Emma believes the artwork contains hidden truths about her family and her mother’s past, while Glenn struggles to separate memory, grief, and fantasy. As the story behind Captain Tsunami begins to unfold, both are forced to question what is real, what is imagined, and whether believing in a story can help heal what life has broken. Captain Tsunami is a tender, character-driven drama that explores loss, creativity, and the unexpected families we build when the ones we’re born into fall apart."
