The second season of the fantasy adventure series "The Librarians: The Next Chapter" has premiered on August 2, 2026 on TNT. Created by Dean Devlin and John Rogers, the show is a spinoff of the "Librarian" film series, and it stars Callum McGowan, Olivia Morris, Bluey Robinson, Jessica Green and Caroline Loncq. In season 2, Dominic Monaghan joins the cast in a recurring role as Merlin, the legendary wizard friend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

"Be careful what you wish for—this is the theme of Season 2 of The Librarians: The Next Chapter. Lysa and Connor face the unexpected realities of being newly minted Librarians, Charlie struggles with the awesome responsibility of being the team’s sole Guardian, and Vikram must surrender his lone wolf status in order to be a true member of a team. To further complicate matters, the team runs into the world’s most famous magician, Merlin, who challenges the foundation of the Library and tempts them into breaking the cardinal rule of using magic. This season, the team discovers that they must not only face the external challenges of each extraordinary adventure but also confront their deepest fears and darkest nightmares."
