Mahershala Ali and Tom Hardy to Star in Cary Fukunaga's Crime Thriller 77 BLACKOUT

Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and Oscar nominee Tom Hardy have signed on to star in the crime thriller "77 Blackout" which will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga ("No Time to Die") from a script by Frank John Hughes (with revisions by Fukunaga).

The film is set in 1977 and follows five rogue police officers who formulate a plan to rob three criminal strongholds – the Hong Kong Triads, the Italian Mafia, and the Harlem Mob – all in one night. When a blackout sweeps the city the night of the robbery, the crew is forced to navigate a hellish landscape as years of being overworked and underpaid forces each of them to confront their own morality.

Oscar-winning "Oppenheimer" producer Charles Roven will handle production duties alongside Madison Weireter for Atlas Entertainment, and William Green and Aaron Ginsburg for The Cut.

THE ALIENIST Series Trailers, Promos, Clips, Featurettes, Images and Poster

The new ten-episode period crime drama series "The Alienist" premieres tonight on TNT at 9p. The series is executive-produced and co-written by Cary Fukunaga ("True Detective") and Hossein Amini ("Drive"), and based on the Anthony Award-winning international bestseller written by Caleb Carr.

Set in 1896 amidst the vast wealth, extreme poverty and technological innovation of New York during the Gilded Age, the show follows the hunt for a series killer responsible for the gruesome murders of boy prostitutes. The cast includes Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning, Brian Geraghty, Douglas Smith, Matthew Shear, Matt Lintz, Robert Wisdowm and Q'orianka Kilcher.

BEASTS OF NO NATION Final Trailer

Netflix has released the final trailer for Cary Fukunaga's "Beasts of No Nation". Based on Uzodinma Iweala's book, the film tells the story of young Agu (Abraham Attah), an orphan of a West Africa civil war who becomes a child soldiers under the command of a ruthless warlord (Idris Elba).

"Beasts of No Nation" can bee seen on Netflix and in select theaters on October 16th.

BEASTS OF NO NATION Trailer and Posters

A new trailer and eight posters for Cary Fukunaga's "Beasts of No Nation" have been released. The film is based on the book of the same name by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala and it tells the story of Agu (Abraham Attah), whose parents are killed during a civil war in West Africa. Agu then falls in the hands of a warlord (Idris Elba) who turns children into soldiers under his command.

"Beasts of No Nation" will premiere on Netflix and in select theaters on October 16th.

Amanda Seyfried and Theo James to Star in BLACK LUNG

Amanda Seyfried ("Les Misérables") and Theo James ("Divergent") have signed on to star in the supernatural thriller "Black Lung". This will be the feature film directorial debut for screenwriter Chase Palmer and the film is produced by Cary Fukunaga ("True Detective"). Here is the film's official synopsis:

"Del (Seyfried) is the wife of a Utah coal miner (James) whose premonition moves her to save her husband just before an explosion in the mine traps all the other miners, an act that tests her marriage, puts her under suspicion of state officials tasked with the rescue, and stokes the resentment of all the other women in town. With time running out to save the entombed men, Del’s increasingly horrifying visions hint to something darker at play within the iconic mountain that looms over the plateau like an anvil, a darkness she comes to believe will consume them all."
