CONVICTION TV Series Trailer, Images and Posters

The new drama series "Conviction" stars Hayley Atwell ("Agent Carter") as a brilliant young attorney, the daughter of a former U.S. president, who is blackmailed to head up NYC's new Conviction Integrity Unit, which investigates cases where people may have been wrongly convicted. Created by Liz Friedlander, the series also stars Shawn Ashmore, Eddie Cahill, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney and Manny Montana.

"Conviction" premiered last night on ABC. The next episode will air on October 10th.

After USA, Fox and NBC announced their line-up of new TV series for the upcoming season, it's time for CBS and ABC to showcase their own shows. Here is a list of the new trailers which you can watch after the jump:

Hayley Atwell Lands Lead in ABC's Legal Drama Pilot

"Agent Carter" actress Hayley Atwell has joined the new legal drama "Conviction" developed by ABC. The plot follows a brilliant-but-rebellious daughter (Atwell) of a former President, who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. There she will work alongside a team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts to examine cases where there's credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime.

While this is certainly good news for the actress, it could mean bad news for Marvel's "Agent Carter". While "Convicition" has not yet been ordered to series, if it does, Atwell may not be able to star in both series. However, this wouldn't be a first time that an actor has signed on for two series at the same time. For example, Ricky Whittle stars in "The 100" and has recently joined Neil Gaiman's "American Gods".

"Agent Carter" has received a solid critical reception, but it has struggled with the ratings even in its second season, while the other Marvel shows, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Daredevil" received quick renewals. Still, I'm not quite sure if Marvel is ready to suffer its first major defeat at this point especially when they are working so hard to build such a huge universe both on TV and on the big screen.

The "Conviction" pilot will be executive-produced by Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper and creators Liz Friedman ("Jessica Jones") and Liz Friedlander ("The Following"). Friedman wrote the pilot, while Friedlander is set to direct.
