Weekend Box-Office: THE INVITATION Scores $7 Million Debut in Worst Weekend Since January

Sony Pictures / Screen Gems' horror film "The Invitation" topped the charts this weekend, but it ended up being the lowest first-place finish since May 2021, when the pandemic was in full force. With $51.3 million overall, this weekend is the lowest since the January 28 weekend ($34.8 million). The fantasy film "Three Thousand of Years Longing" starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton also opened in theaters this week, but failed to make an impression.

Weekend Box-Office: DRAGON BALL SUPER - SUPER HERO Pulls Off No.1 Debut While BEAST Comes in 2nd

Sony/Crunchyroll's anime film "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" dominated the weekend box-office, while Universal's survival thriller "Beast" starring Idris Elba scored a modest second place debut.
