New on Blu-ray & 4K Ultra HD: MONTY PYTHON'S LIFE OF BRIAN (1979) - Criterion Collection

BUY FROM AMAZON

Product Description: The anarchic irreverence of British comedy legends Monty Python is at its most inspired in this brilliant send-up of the blockbuster biblical epic. In a stable in ancient Jerusalem, a child is born—a child who will grow up to be . . . Brian (Graham Chapman), an ordinary Judean who goes on to live an extraordinary life, becoming entangled in a plot to overthrow the Roman empire and being mistaken for the Messiah, among other unlikely events. Featuring ribald Roman puns, sharp political commentary, and an audacious crucifixion-themed musical number, the Pythons’ most ambitious film is a hilarious satire of dogma and blind faith in which nothing is sacred.

BUY FROM AMAZON

Product Description: The boundless imagination of Terry Gilliam yields a dazzling fantasy of epic proportions. Inspired by the extravagant exploits of the fabled Baron Munchausen, this spectacle—born of a famously turbulent production—follows the whimsical eighteenth-century nobleman (John Neville) as he embarks on an outlandish quest that takes him from faraway lands to the moon to the belly of a sea monster and beyond, meanwhile waging battle against a vengeful sultan and the tyranny of logic. Packed frame to frame with special effects, mischievous wit, and colorful performances—including a young Sarah Polley as the Baron’s no-nonsense sidekick—the Oscar-nominated The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is a lavish celebration of the triumph of make-believe over reality.

ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING Trailer, Clips, Images and Posters

"Absolutely Anything" is a British sci-fi comedy directed by Terry Jones that reunites all the living members of Monty Python for the first time since 1983's "The Meaning of Life".

The film stars Simon Pegg as Neil, a member of the human race who is selected by a group of mischievous extraterrestrials (voiced by Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam, John Cleese and Eric Idle) and given absolute powers to use as he sees fit. If after ten days the powers have been used for good, then the aliens will spare humanity and give them a seat in their Galactic Council. Otherwise, Earth will be obliterated.

The cast also includes Kate Beckinsale, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Rob Riggle, Eddie Izzard and Joanna Lumley, with Robin Williams in one of his last roles as the voice of Dennis, Neil's dog. Kylie Minogue recorded a promotional single "Absolutely Anything and Anything At All", which is featured on the film's soundtrack.

"Absolutely Anything" was released in the U.K. on August 14th, 2015, and received a limited release in the U.S. on May 12th, 2017. It received mostly negative reviews.

ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING Trailer and Posters

The first trailer and posters for the sci-fi comedy "Absolutely Anything" have been released. The film is directed and co-written by Terry Jones ("Life of Brian") and it reunited the Monty Python crew as a group of eccentric aliens who decide to give the human called Neil Clarke (Simon Pegg) the power to do, as the title suggests, absolutely anything. Obviously, the first thing Clarke does with his powers is spy on his sexy neighbor (Kate Beckinsale), endow himself with an improved body and give his dog the ability to speak (voiced by Robin Williams). The film also stars Joanna Lumley, Eddie Izzard, Robert Bathurst and Rob Riggle.

"Absolutely Anything" opens in theaters on August 14th, in the U.K.
