Three Comrades 1938 New On Bluray

Product Description: World War I is over, let the living begin. So three German soldiers open a repair shop and get on with their lives. Erich (Robert Taylor) finds unexpected love with frail Patricia (Margaret Sullavan), Gottfried (Robert Young) falls in with a verboten anti-nationalist group. Otto (Franchot Tone) approaches each day with worldly cynicism. And through all that's to come, these men know they will remain Three Comrades. This lyrical adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's novel is one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's rare screenwriting credits. Melodrama virtuoso Frank Borzage (The Mortal Storm) is at the top of his directorial form here, and as Patricia, Sullavan remains the film's luminous soul, its cherished fourth comrade.

"The Last Tycoon" is a new drama series based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished novel of the same name. Created by "Captain Phillips" and "The Hunger Games" writer Billy Ray, the show is set in the 1930s and it stars Matt Bomer ("White Collar") as Monroe Stahr, Hollywood's first wunderkind studio executive who starts a power struggle with his mentor and current studio head Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer).

The cast also includes Lily Collins, Dominique McElligott, Rosemarie DeWitt, Mark O'Brien and Enzo Cilenti.

"The Last Tycoon" was originally developed for HBO, but when that network passed on the project, Amazon picked it up, shot a pilot and streamed it last summer. The series' complete first season was released on July 28th, 2017 and is now streaming via Amazon.

The Great Gatsby on DVD and Blu-Ray

THE GREAT GATSBY

Rated: PG-13 | Runtime: 142 min | Studio: Warner Bros.

The Great Gatsby DVD Blu-Ray
Synopsis: "The Great Gatsby" follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy (Carey Mulligan), and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

The Great Gatsby Leonardo DiCaprio Carey Mulligan

A batch of 7 movie clips for Baz Luhrmann's version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" have been released by Warner Bros. and brought online by Collider. With all the sparkly publicity which tried to sell the film as a non-classical adaptation of the book, the clips shown by the studio focus on exactly the classical feel of the story. So, no Fergie songs here. Instead, we do get some rather bland acting from the cast. Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki look the part, but don't seem to act the part. Only Joel Edgerton feels like the right choice for the role and really puts his back into it. It could just be a false first impression, or maybe the studio chose the wrong clips to promote the film. Or, maybe the clips don't work so well out of context. I do hope they pull it off, because I'm a fan of risk-taking filmmakers and have loved Luhrmann's films so far. "The Great Gatsby" opens on May 10, 2013 (in 3D).

The Great Gatsby 2013 Film Image

A new extended TV spot and 2 banner posters for Baz Luhrmann's version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" have been released. The TV spot is kind of scary. It features a song called "A Little Party Never Killed No One" by Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock as a dubious marketing stunt. I won't go on a rant about how this song doesn't fit the story or the period in time, because this is Baz Luhrmann we're talking about. Think of his "Romeo + Juliet" and "Moulin Rouge" and you get the picture. It just feels like an odd match, trying to use a Fergie song to sell F. Scott Fitzgerald's story to a wider audience. The soundtrack also features Jay-Z, Beyonce, Will.I.Am, Lana Del Rey, Florence + The Machine, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra and GOTYE. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki. "The Great Gatsby" opens on May 10, 2013 (in 3D).

Leonardo DiCaprio Carey Mulligan The Great Gatsby Image

A collection of six new posters has been released for Baz Luhrmann's version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby". Four of the posters are new character posters and the last two are wide banners. This is the third batch of character posters released for the film. Check out the previous ones here and here. I feel like they've sort of run out of new things to display in these posters. The extravagant adaptation stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki. "The Great Gatsby" opens on May 10, 2013 (in 3D).

Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprion in THE GREAT GATSBY

A new trailer and poster have been released for Baz Luhrmann's version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby". This lengthier trailer has a much wider scope regarding the plot and also showcases the lush visuals and the soundtrack which features original songs from artists like Beyonce, Andre 3000, Lana Del Rey and Florence + The Machine. I'm not sure if Luhrmann's over-the-top visual style is what this story really needs, but I can't judge the movie in advance, because the director is really one of the few who can pull something like this off. This is either going to be a massive masterpiece, or a resounding failure. "The Great Gatsby" stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki, and will open on May 10, 2013 (in 3D).

The Great Gatsby Banner Poster

Six new character posters have been released for Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby". There's not too much to these posters. They're the usual character portraits. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Debicki. Fans of the novel expecting a classical approach to their favorite book should probably curb their expectations, or avoid this altogether. Luhrmann has also directed "Romeo + Juliet" (also starring DiCaprio) and "Moulin Rouge". He can certianly handle something more subdued (see "Australia"), but judging from the trailers and the fact that the music for the film will be composed by Jay-Z, I wouldn't count on it. "The Great Gatsby" opens on May 10, 2013 (in 3D).
