Hitman Agent 47 Movie Clips

Four new clips for "Hitman: Agent 47" have been released online. The videogame adaptation opens today in theaters, but it looks like fans of the games will be disappointed. The film is one of the year's worst reviewed films with a Rottentomatoes score of 8% and an average rating of 3.6 out of 10, which is comparable to the "Fantastic Four" level of crappiness. While not completely without qualities, especially for those looking to watch a relatively fun, brainless actioner, for everyone else the film might prove to be a dull exercise in over-the-top action laced with an illogial plot. The cast features Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Thomas Kretschmann, Ciaran Hinds, Emilio Rivera and Alex Young.

Hitman Agent 47 Movie trailer and poster

The first trailer and poster for the video game adaptation "Hitman: Agent 47" have been released. The film stars Rupert Friend ("Homeland") as a genetically engineered elite assassin who wages war against a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47's past to create an army of killers. Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, Thomas Kretschmann and Ciaran Hinds and Alex Young co-star.

I've actually played the games that inspired this movie, and I think this will anger fans somewhat. The games were all about stealth, patience and trying to complete the objectives as quietly and cleanly as possible, but the movie seems to care more about creating absurdly explosive set pieces that defy everything from physics to common sense. I believe that was exactly the reason why the first movie failed and required this reboot, which seems doomed to repeat the same mistakes. And the CGI looks really horrible. Instead of overreaching on a modest budget, they should have just kept the action simple, but smart. Just look how well "John Wick" turned out on a $20 million budget.

"Hitman: Agent 47" opens in theaters on August 28th.

First images for Hitman Agent 47 Starring Rupert Friend

The first images for the upcoming video game adaptation sequel/reboot "Hitman: Agent 47" have been released. The film is a reboot of the 2007 adaptation which starred Timothy Olyphant in the lead role. This film stars Rupert Friend ("Homeland") as the titular Agent 47, an elite and genetically engineered assassin easily identified by a a barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. Or not so easily, apparently, because he gets all these tricky hits done without ever getting caught. The film is directed by Aleksander Bach and it also stars Hannah Ware, Zachary Quinto, Ciaran Hinds and Thomas Kretschmann.

"Hitman: Agent 47" opens in theaters on February 27, 2015.
