Hand Of Death 1976 New On Bluray

Product Description: When Golden Harvest first released Hand of Death in 1976, no-one paid much attention to the names of writer/director Wu Yu-sheng, third-billed actor Chen Yuen-lung or fight choreographer Hung Chin-pao in the opening credits. Within a decade, however, each of those men had changed the course of Hong Kong action filmmaking forever, under the names they are best known under to this day: John Woo, Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung.

After a traitor of the Shaolin temple, Shih Shao-Feng (James Tien, The Big Boss), has eliminated thousands of his former colleagues in exchange for power from the Manchus under the Qing dynasty, a surviving master of Shaolin, Yun Fei (Tan Tao-Liang), is tasked with the mission of bringing Shih to justice. In order to defeat Shih's overwhelmingly large army – led by the ruthless Tu Qing (Sammo Hung) – Yun Fei will need to team up with a skilled blacksmith (Jackie Chan) and a reluctant swordsman to beat the odds and avenge his fallen brothers.

With early signs of John Woo's affinity for brotherly bonding amidst heroic bloodshed, and featuring one of Jackie Chan's earliest speaking roles after proving his mettle as a stuntman, Hand of Death is an old school hard-hitting kung fu gem (with a dash of wuxia) that any fan of classic Hong Kong cinema needs in their collection!

Last Hurrah For Chivalry 1979 New On Bluray

Product Description: Before he became known as the master of the bullet-riddled heroic tragedy, John Woo sharpened his trademark themes and kinetic action choreography with this whirlwind wuxia spectacle. Unaware they are caught in a deadly game of deception, a pair of rambunctious swordsmen (Wai Pak and Damian Lau) join forces to help a nobleman (Lau Kong) in his quest for vengeance. Paying thrilling homage to his mentor, martial-arts innovator Chang Cheh, Woo delivers both bravura swordplay set pieces and a bloodstained interrogation of the meaning of brotherhood and honor in a world in which loyalty is bought and sold.

Lupita Nyong'o Picture
Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o is in talks to star in Universal and eOne's remake of John Woo's classic action film "The Killer". Woo himself will helm the remake that will gender-swap the lead role.

In the original, Chow Yun-Fat starred as an assasasin who accidentally blinds a young nightclub singer (Sally Yeh) while on his last mission for the Triads. Her sight can be restored with a corneal transplant, but the operation is expensive, so the hitman takes on one last hit in order to pay for it. Things get complicated when his boss double-crosses him and he's forced to team up with the Detective who was trying to catch him.

According to Universal's brief description, the remake is a "blistering thriller that blends espionage with extraordinary stunts". Nyong'o will star as the assassin. The film will be produced by Mark Gordon ("Saving Private Ryan", "The Day After Tomorrow") and Matt Jackson ("End of Watch"). Luc Etienne ("The Purge: Election Year") will serve as executive producer.

The movie, written by Katie Dippold ("Parks and Recreation"), is a buddy flick about an FBI Agent, played by Bullock, who teams up with a Boston cop (McCarthy) in order to capture a Russian gangster. Production is expected to begin sometime this year. The movie has yet to be titled.

  • Johnny Depp is set to star in the feature film version of "The Night Stalker", based on a 1970s TV seris about a tabloid reporter who investigates crimes that always turn out to have a supernatural source. • Matthew McConaughey, Gerard Butler and Sam Worthington will star in a fact-based 3D CGI action thriller (WOW!!) called "Thunder Run". The remake will be called "Day of the Beast" and will focus on the Yakuza : "DAY OF THE BEAST follows a western outsider with a grim past as he becomes embroiled in a global turf war between a vicious new breed of Yakuza and old school Cold War Russian mobsters. It’s an action-packed saga of loyalty, revenge and redemption which erupts in the heart of Tokyo. Woo (Mission: Impossible II, Face/Off) will direct and produce the script by Rob Frisbee along with Terence Chang, and Nikkatsu’s Naoki Sato. Lori Tilkin, Aki Sugihara and Yoko Asakura are executive producing."
