Product Description: Megan Leavey is based on the true life story of a young Marine Corporal (Kate Mara) whose unique discipline and bond with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq. When she is assigned to clean up the K9 unit after a disciplinary hearing, Leavey identifies with a particularly aggressive dog, Rex, and is given the chance to train him. Over the course of their service, Megan and Rex completed more than 100 missions until an IED explosion injures them, putting their fate in jeopardy.

Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite ("Blackfish), the film also stars Ramon Rodriguez, Tom Felton, Common, Geraldine James, Edie Falco, Will Patton and Bradley Whitford.

"Megan Leavey" opened in theaters on June 9th, 2017, received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed $3.8 million in its opening weekend from 1,956 theaters.

Weekend Box-Office: THE MUMMY No Match for WONDER WOMAN

"The Mummy" had great hopes of being a box-office hit going into the weekend, but unfortunately the Tom Cruise led blockbuster stood no chance against Warner Bros' "Wonder Woman". Meanwhile semi-wide releases "It Comes at Night" and "Megan Leavey" struggled in top Top 10.

This week in theaters we have "The Mummy" reboot starring Tom Cruise, an overblown mess according to the critics, the inspirational war biopic "Megan Leavey" starring Kate Mara, and the highly acclaimed horror film "It Comes at Night" starring Joel Edgerton. In limited release you should definitely check out "My Cousin Rachel", a new adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier's novel of the same name, starring Rachel Weisz.
