Netflix's "The Siege of Jadotville" is a war drama directed by Richie Smyth based on the 2005 book "The Siege at Jadotville: The Irish Army's Forgotten Battle" by Declan Power.
The titular battle involved a stand off between Irish Army UN peacekeepers led by Commander Patrick Quinlan (Jamie Dornan) and 3,000 Congolese troops led by French and Belgian mercenaries working for mining companies, during the Congo Crisis in September 1961.
The cast also includes Jason O'Mara, Mark Strong, Guillaume Canet and Emmanuelle Seigner.
"The Siege of Jadotville" will premiere on October 7th.
